Bucky Covington on stage at last week's KJJY Big Country Bash; thanks again to Judy Lang for her terrific concert photos! Bucky Covington's summer concert schedule is blazin' hot, and ticket updates for two upcoming shows made the news today. K-Bull 98.1 is the sponsor for the Night in the Country festival on July 24th-25th; Bucky and Sawyer Brown are the featured performers for the 24th. Add Jason Aldean and Josh Gracin on the 25th, and you've got a festival that's stirred up quite a bit of local excitement, according to the Reno Gazette-Journal:
Put the Gracin/Aldean concert together with the previously announced Friday, July 24, concert featuring Bucky Covington and Sawyer Brown, and the popular two-day outdoor country music festival promises to give fans a high-energy, talent-laden show.
"By putting these two concerts back-to-back in 2009, we feel we are once again offering country music fans a top-flight show under the stars at the Lyon County Fairgrounds," says Rod Pellegrini, Special Events Coordinator for the sponsoring Boys and Girls Club of Mason Valley which co-sponsors the event along with K-Bull 98.1 fm radio.
Tickets are on sale already on the www.nightinthecountry.org website where concert-goers can print out their own bar-coded tickets at a price of $30 for one night or $50 for two-night passes.
Rocky Covington greets the crowd in Des Moines at the KJJY Big Country Bash in this great photo by Judy Lang--thanks so much!Advance tickets for the Jackson County Fair show in Oregon, where Bucky and his excellent band will open for Sawyer Brown on Thursday, July 23, are now on sale online. (The evening is sponsored by 105.1 HANK-FM in Medford, and seats are $25 reserved, $15 lawn--and at those reasonable prices, they're bound to go fast. Get yours now!)
On the charts...well, that mixed blessing feeling continues. Bucky's new single, "I Want My Life Back", was indeed polevaluted by a new release by an established star at Mediabase, and it now holds the #33 spot on their chart; however, the bullet's still there, y'all. (In need of some plumping up, yes, but present and accounted for!) The bullet, indicating upward movement--more airplay, more stations adding the song--is of immense importance. We can ride out the possible holiday glitch in style--if your local country station is playing pre-recorded Fourth of July fare during the days this weekend, listen for live nights, overnights or mornings--and then hop in with a request or two. It'll be tricky in some areas, but it'lll also be rewarding--and on Monday, things will be back to normal on your radio...
We'll wind it up for now with a repeat of yesterday's weekend concert quick-list--hope you can be there for one (or more) of these stops and enjoy some live, loud and wonderful summer fun with Bucky Covington and his band:
