Bucky Covington's "I Want My Life Back" (montage video by Buckymouse) and a chart check...

We're still waiting (and not very patiently, to be honest) for the afternoon Mediabase results*, but we do have a few updates on the progress of Bucky Covington's latest single, "I Want My Life Back". It graced WKML's "Top 5 at 6" at #5 today--thanks to all who wrote to Larry K and gave Bucky a shout-out! The song's also doing well on Brian Mansfield's American Idol airplay chart at USA Today's Idol Chatter blog, where it's #15, up from #17 last week. (If you were feeling alone in noticing the glacial pace of the country airplay chart, be lonely no more--Mr. Mansfield wryly noticed that Kellie Pickler's fun single "Best Days of Your Life" took "only 30 weeks" to go Top 10. Keep the faith, y'all...)

Here's hoping Bucky will be #1 on your personal request line chart tonight! He's been flirting with that Top 30 prize, and the next two weeks are prime time for a big leap upstairs. (Remember, Top 30 means additional airplay on Lon Helton's Country Countdown USA and the Crook & Chase Countdown; and Top 25 gets Bucky a spot on the Foxworthy Countdown.)

Rumor has it Top 25 or so is also going to get Bucky a brand new music video on GAC and CMT--and the more eyes and ears on Bucky as his sophomore album's release date comes closer, the better. It seems like a little phone call, but requests from all of us are a big help when it comes to getting his distinctive voice heard everywhere.
