Bucky and his excellent band will be taking the stage at the Palmdale Amphitheater at 8 pm Pacific time, and the very gracious Hildi and her helpers will offer you a chance to enjoy the fun via a conference call. (Call's over--thanks again to Hildi and company for their kindness!)
It's kind of you to request "I Want My Life Back" before you head out for your Saturday night excitement--call up your live local country DJ, or request Bucky's latest from your favorite syndicated star:

I am sorry that I clicked on the link to give them a hit. but they did an "AWKWARD" for Miley Cyrus too so I guess Bucky's in good company. I cannot believe anyone would diss another artist so blatantly. I wonder how they would feel if someone did an Awkward Blake video.....they would probably be steaming. I am. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! I know everyone doesn't get Bucky but they don't have to be so mean-spirited when they dont

I honestly felt a bit conflicted about whether or not to link to it...still do, actually. (Didn't see their other video for Miley, though--is this part of a series?) They did get some concert footage that was nice, though, so I figured I'd post it anyway...sigh.
ReplyDeleteWe try to keep it uncontroversial and supportive around here, so maybe I'll de-link out front before going out tonight--but if anyone's interested in it despite the awkwardness, here's the link hidden away in ye olde comments:

(Feel free to watch w/sound down and enjoy Bucky on stage!) Thanks--Winnie
Hi all! I just got back from the Palmdale concert. Sorry, I have no photos, but I can share a few details in case you weren't able to listen in via phone. As usual, it was windy outside, so much so that early in the show Bucky said "I ate enough hair" and put on a black hat a fan had given him 2 days ago. He teased those of the audience that didn't have his album. A Loud Guy made some crack so Bucky walked on over and pointed him out and with a smile said, "I have the mike. I win." Loud Guy was seen cheering Bucky on several times and waving his arms later in the concert so Bucky won him over.
ReplyDeleteOther highlights: Bucky growling "Rawrrrr!," telling us that living by a lake in Nashville "doesn't suck," walking out into the audience and bouncing up and down like Tigger during "It's Good To Be Us," and trotting out a Pink Floyd song and that Georgia Satellites song that goes "My honey, my baby don't keep my love upon no shelf · She says, "Don't give me no lines and keep your hands to yourself!" The bass (?) was too loud so the band competed with Bucky and I couldn't understand half the words, but Bucky is having so much fun out there and he loves bringing out Rocky from behind the conga (?) drums. Rocky sang some but he sounds different. He doesn't have Bucky's rasp. Bucky's North Carolina country roots are so genuine. He doesn't have to prop up sheet music and attempt to sing in the key of Twang. His drawl and personality are pure country, through and through. So to sum it up, Bucky's fun, winning personality and good singing got the crowd on its feet and we all had a slam-bang time!
Anon 10:08, thank you so much for that beautiful recap of tonight's show! Glad you had a good time--sounds like Bucky and the band (and the guy in the black hat!) had a fun night, too. Hope you don't mind me quoting you in Sunday's early post! :) Sweet dreams, and i hope Bucky and the band make their way to Palmdale again soon...
