Those terrific new Lyric Street Records promo photos of Bucky Covington are making the rounds--and one is GAC's current Photo of the Week. Head over to GAC now to see which one, and make sure to leave them a little comment to let them know you'd like to see more of Bucky online and on the channel. (Thanks to a kind anonymous commenter here for the news!)
Rumor has it we'll have a music video for Bucky's new single "I Want My Life Back" [hear it here] when the song hits the Top 25 or so...right now, it's #36 with a bullet at Mediabase, and each and every request-line phone call and email we (and our friends and coworkers and relatives) make will bring us closer to seeing it.
Bucky's last music video made its debut in October of 2007--that is way, way too long for someone as videogenic as he is to be off the air at GAC and CMT. After all, most of us got to know Bucky via TV...getting another video on the air will help many new fans discover his talents. All the more inspiration to call, yes? Dial up your local live country DJ now, or let the syndicated host you're listening to know you'd like Bucky's new single to be part of your night:

Indeed, 2007 is too long since we have seen a video of this beautiful artist on TV. One of his labelmates demanded and just put out an #80 video for a song just out. Hello- Shinybass, we need you. Another artist group on Bucky's sister label had negative spins and put out a video and is now approaching Top 20.
ReplyDeleteI do not pretend to be a record company exec, but why is a treasure being hidden from TV as well as legit download accessibility?
Sorry, that last post should have been $80 video, not #80. More reason why I am not a record company exec...typos about money can be dangerous to your health.
ReplyDeleteHi, Anon! You bring up a good point. I'm no record executive myself, and I do understand the crummy economy and how it's affecting the music biz all too well (sigh), but I'm with you.
ReplyDeleteBucky established a solid and active fan base for his singing via his performing charisma on TV, and he and the band are backing that up with tons of touring. Why not use radio, video and tours to a) remind people who enjoyed him on TV way back when that he's still doing very well and b) attract those TV fans to the shows and to radio? He's got real attribute in his telegenic-ness. (All right, "telegenic-ness" is not a word, I know. :)
Three forms of advertising (radio, TV and live) could be even more effective than two, methinks. And I love Sarah Buxton's $80 video--charm and talent trumped budget, there! I get lots of hits here every day from people looking for the official video for "I Want My Life Back"...so the demand is out there and it isn't just us passionate fans. Fingers crossed that a video (even a smaller-budget, live one) happens sooner than we think--and that the video and Bucky's charm helps boost "I Want My Life Back" up the charts, where it belongs. :)
Thanks for stopping by!
