Happy festival week to all--have a blast!

John Michael Montgomery and Bucky Covington on stage at Golf and Guitars in Sacramento last month; photo by our very talented friend Minnie. Thanks again, Minnie!

A little while back, Bucky, Steve Cook and Jeff Cease shared the stage with veteran country star John Michael Montgomery for an impromptu duet set at KNCI's Golf and Guitars benefit in Sacramento; Tyler Sobie of Fanbolt.com was present, and his excellent article gives a bit more background on how that satisfying combination came about. (The "improbable duet" also got a mention in GAC's "Country Star Mashups" article this week, and there's a great video of their raw and haunting "Turn the Page" posted at YouTube. Perhaps the two gentlemen should consider another joint appearance someday?)

Bucky's appearing more and more often on your radio right now; "I Want My Life Back" [hear Bucky Covington's new single at his MySpace] is gracing the #37 spot at Mediabase's published country chart this morning, and while that bullet's respectable, we prefer them colossal. A call or email to your local country DJ is a great way for those of us who can't be in Nashville this week (sigh!) to give Bucky a beautiful shout-out across the miles.

Speaking of "across the miles"...yes, it is totally fine to write our good friend Larry K at country@wkml.com and request "I Want My Life Back" for WKML's "Top 5 at 6", no matter where you are today. (Out of town streaming listeners are welcome, and the station encourages Bucky's fans from all over to listen in. Call or write, and enjoy the show via the station's stream at 6 pm--it'd be sweet to get Bucky back on that countdown!)

Bucky's winner for that fun ROCK STAR challenge contest should be announced sometime today--keep checking his official MySpace blog for updates, and if you haven't done so already, add him as a friend. (His MySpace is a very happening place with contests, videos and more...see you there!)

Have a lovely Wednesday!--Winnie
