Bucky Covington talks a little (just a little) about his new album, due in September, in this clip posted at his MySpace a few months back. There's lots more video fun happening there, so if you haven't already added him, stop over now!
Thursday's quiet, but this weekend will be full of some terrific live music, courtesy of Bucky Covington and his excellent band. Tomorrow night, catch them at the Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, Oklahoma. A few GA tickets are available for purchase online for $25 at last check--say thanks to KIX 102.5 for sponsoring this one, and have fun!
This weekend's other two shows are that Story Teller #12 acoustic concert at Six Flags New England, sponsored by WCTK (sold out, alas), and a winners-only WWYX/Country 92.5 acoustic performance in Hartford, CT on Monday, June 8. Go to the station's contest page and enter today if you're in the listening area...entries close tonight at 11 pm local time. (You may have to register for their country club first.)
After that, of course, the delightful CMA Fest madness begins! Country music's official summer kickoff deserves a detailed post all to itself, so stay tuned. (We won't wait to tell you about those limited public tickets to Bucky's first official Fan Club Party on June 10th--you can still pick some up on a will-call basis at MCN's ticket page, but hurry.)Finally, a quick chart check shows that "I Want My Life Back" [hear Bucky Covington's new single at his MySpace] is holding on to that sweet momentum from last weekend--it's #40 with a good sized bullet on the Mediabase published charts, and yesterday, it graced the final Radio & Records chart as their #38 Breaker song. (We'll miss that R&R chart so much!) Billboard's online Hot Country Singles charts are truncated, so Bucky's new tune won't show up there until it's #25...which will happen faster if we request like crazy this weekend. WKML's "Top 5 at 6" is a fine place to start; write to Larry K at country@wkml.com and request "I Want My Life Back", then keep an ear out for those lunchtime, drive time and "Top X at X" opportunities in your neck of the woods...
More later today...happy Thursday, everyone!--Winnie
