A reader wrote in to say this was one of her favorite concert shots ever--we think it's fantastic, too! Bucky Covington smiles on stage at the Crocodile Rock Cafe in Allentown; photo by the very talented Pizzi, who shares more of her beautiful images from the performance in her fantastic Photobucket gallery. Thanks again!
Thanks to Buckymouse for this fun news--Bucky hosted a CMT Music Awards Red Carpet Special for the CMT Radio Network, and it's been made available to stations across the country this weekend. (His CMT hosting duties are always a hoot, as anyone who watched those wild CMT Outsider videos can attest!) We're not sure which radio stations will carry it, or when, but there is a CMT Radio Network station finder online for those who'd like to keep an ear out for the segment. If your station airs it, please drop us a line and tell us all about it.
Edited to add a link to Buckymouse's very cool and creative montage on YouTube--co-composer Jennifer Hanson and Bucky Covington share "A Different World" in this lovely one-of-a-kind clip. Enjoy!
The weekend's here, and while that means downtime for many of us, it means a good time for Bucky Covington, Luke Bryan, headliner Dierks Bentley, and their excited fans in Rockford, Illinois, where the Throttle Wide Open show is set to rock the MetroCentre tonight. (Look for last-minute tickets at the MetroCentre site.) Their show in West Layfayette was a big hit with the Perdue crowd, as noted in the Purdue student newspaper, The Exponent.
And it looks like Bucky will be a big hit all over the country this summer, too! Thanks to Lisa/Judge of Buck Wild for her very kind heads-up about the dates added to the tour page at Bucky's official site. The warm-weather shows are always a joy--Bucky will be criss-crossing the country in a big way, and with his popularity growing in leaps and bounds, the fan club "meet and greets" are getting a bit harder to come by. Join and make your M&G requests now! Look for more details on summer shows in this spot later this week...We're in a lovely and rare breather mode--Bucky's second consecutive Top Ten hit single, "It's Good to Be Us" has peaked on the charts, and now we can request it for the sheer joy of hearing it on the radio. (It'll be a little while before "I'll Walk" begins its Billboard and Mediabase journey, so enjoy the calm while it lasts.) CMT Music Awards voting is done, and we'll know on Monday how well our passionate efforts went. For now, though, our "work" is to relax, have fun, crank up Bucky's CD, stock up on party supplies for Monday night's big show, and enjoy the sweetness of being a happy fan.
FLCathy captured Bucky Covington and his band rockin' the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach--here's a very energetic "Bible and the Belt". You can see more of her amazing videos in her YouTube profile. Thanks so much to FLCathy for sharing this one!
We'll take a page from The Covington Times and look back at two years ago, when Bucky was "invited to leave" American Idol after a string of terrific performances on national TV, performances that won him a loyal audience who still treasure his distinctive voice today. Our "bad day" post, and the comments that followed, were laced with high hopes and a lot of faith--and two years later, to the day, here we are, talking about Bucky's multiple Billboard hits, national tours and a major country music award nomination. Yep, it's good to be us!
"It's Good to Be Us" as we vote for Bucky on the video countdown charts, too--put in a good word for our favorite at at GAC's Top 20 Country Countdown and at CMT's Top 20 Countdown.More soon!
Thanks for the look back on the bad day when Bucky left. It is so good to review history so we will not forget the positive of the future. I gently cried that whole next day, too numb to feel anything the night he left...but always knowing it was not over, just a hurt in the gut, like nothing I had ever felt before. Thank goodness for his AI experience for giving us this wonderful star!!
ReplyDeleteHi, Anon!
ReplyDeleteYep, I remember that night and that "punch in the gut" feeling very well--and you're right, if it hadn't been for the whole Idol experience (bad day included...sigh) we might never have gotten to hear Bucky's terrifically distinctive (and addictive!) sound. Everything definitely unfolded as it should have, and it's always sweet to contemplate how well things are going now... :)
