This one's quickly moving into "most requested" territory! Bucky Covington on stage at the New Faces Showcase at CRS39, by request; click here to see more great showcase photos by the very kind Happydays. Thanks again, Happy!
This morning's flashback feature article at the long-running Foxes On Idol site is an enlightening look at Idol history; Donna Reynolds faithfully recaps each season's eighth-place episode, and adds a bit of background on those who've taken home that prize. Of Bucky Covington, she writes: "Once the Idol tour was over, Bucky hit the ground running and hasn’t slowed down since!"
(Click here to get the badge at left for your MySpace, webpage or email signature.)It's true--he's been a chart-topping, hard-working touring artist, and after a couple of days off, Bucky and his excellent band will be back on stage at the Williamson County Pavilion in Marion, Illinois for a show on Wednesday, April 9th.
Bucky joins Dierks Bentley and Luke Bryan on April 10th for a Throttle Wide Open show at the Elliott Hall of Music at Perdue University in West Lafayette, IN (tickets here) and on the 11th, they'll play the Braden Auditorium at Illinois State University in Normal (tickets at Ticketmaster; students can also purchase seats at the Braden Box Office in the Bone Student Center.)

Bucky Covington, Ducky Medlock and Steve Cook rock the crowd at the Murat Theatre in Indianapolis; photo by the very generous Buckaholic. See more of her beautiful images at Photobucket. Thanks again!
Chart news: "It's Good to Be Us" begins the week at #11 on the Mediabase weighted and Top 500 listings. (A Sunday countdown boost plumped the bullet a bit on the Top 500, but there's a dreaded "invisible bullet" on the weighted chart.) We'll keep requesting! As recent history has shown, this is a hurdle we can overcome when we work our collective phone and email magic...
On the tube and around the net: The Covington Times features a fun "hair in flight" concert shot by Beesims, a great image of Rocky Covington on stage by Happydays, an update on Yes.com, and a look back at Bucky's second Opry show and the anticipation surrounding "Queen night". Midask9's It's Good to Be Us blog is full of request tips, a glance at the CMT boards, and another of her fantastic concert photos. And stop in at Country's Chatter today for a look at two excellent acts Bucky's shared bills with over the past year--Lady Antebellum and Keith Anderson are the subjects of two recent entries.
By request, a classic shot of Rocky and Bucky Covington from that memorable Tallahassee show in December. Thanks to Buckyflowers for sharing this amazing moment!
Vote for Bucky: Yep, the week is starting off pretty quietly, but look on the bright side--there aren't a lot of distractions, and we can catch up on the voting and requesting fun. Bucky's "It's Good to Be Us" is looking for your love and affection at at GAC Top 20 Country Countdown and at CMT's Top 20 Countdown. (There's been a bit of confusion about links to the latter--if you're having trouble finding him on the ballot there, please leave a note in comments...)
And we'll be back in the saddle with a countdown post about the 2008 CMT Music Awards tonight, but with the voting ending on Friday (yes, this Friday) time is tight, so don't wait for my nagging! Bucky's big win is absolutely up to us--register at CMT and vote now--then send those links to everyone you know.More very soon--happy quiet Monday!
