Monday news: Throttle Wide Open in Poughkeepsie, Bucky's quiz at 3 ET today (updated)

By request (again!), Bucky Covington charms the crowd during a sunny show in Turlock, CA; click here to enjoy a beautiful set of concert photos by the very kind Minnie. Thanks so much, Minnie!

Edited to add a link to a few sweet meet and greet shots from Bucky's Buffalo Bar show, courtesy of KSJQ in St. Joseph, Missouri. Enjoy!

Great seats for the Friday 3/28 Poughkeepsie Throttle Wide Open show starring Dierks Bentley, Bucky Covington and Luke Bryan are coming up now at Ticketmaster--if you're planning on going, snag one right away!

Click here to see Bucky Covington's video, It's Good to Be Us, on CMT LoadedAnd an update on the ongoing MySpace contest is in order, too: Bucky's next "It's Good to Be Us" quiz question will be posted at his MySpace blog at a special time-- 3 p.m today. Get the details on the contest in this post, then stand by for your chance to qualify and win...

Here's a look at the rest of the news on this fairly quiet (so far!) Monday morning:

Chart news: "It's Good to Be Us" has two big beautiful bullets at Mediabase charts (where it's #13 on both the weighted chart and the Top 500) but we'd love to see them even plumper still. Take a good look at that weighted chart--opportunity is knocking hard. Keep requesting! Tonight's nationally syndicated country radio shows--Lia, The Big Time with Whitney Allen, After Midnite and your local favorites--are fun to listen to and a joy to call. Ask for "It's Good to Be Us" and we can keep that weekend momentum rolling...

Upcoming shows: Tonight's the night in Music City--enjoy Bucky and an all-star lineup of country stars for the Danielle Peck & Friends Benefit Concert at The Mercy Lounge in downtown Nashville. Tickets are available at www.ticketweb.com for $10 ($13 at the door) and there are VIP packages available; all proceeds benefit Safe Haven's Family Shelter. (Those of us who are too far away to go can donate to the shelter online here; if you'd like to donate as part of tonight's show, click "other" in the "Type of Gift" field and enter "Danielle" in the "gift in the name of" area on the following page.)

The Throttle Wide Open tour gets rolling again on Thursday, March 27th at the Broome Arena in Binghampton, NY; tickets are on sale at Ticketmaster. (Tickets for most of Dierks Bentley's Throttle Wide Open dates are available now at Ticketmaster--check Dierks' official website for details on non-Ticketmaster events. )

And a reminder about that WKDF Birthday Bash at the Sommet Center on 3/30-- tickets are available now at Ticketmaster. Randy Owen, Bucky Covington, Restless Heart, Lee Brice, Stephen Cochran, Marshal Reign and Trailer Choir will all be there to celebrate, and tickets are just $20.

Ever wonder about the view from the front row of an intimate venue Bucky Covington show? This very short but incredibly fun clip from RandomGirlFilms will give you a hint. Thanks to the videographers for sharing this one!

On the tube and around the net: If you've been a reader here for since the olden days (that'd be the '06 American Idols Live tour or so), you know how...um, fond I am of the hat. And if you feel the same way, you'll love the top photo at The Covington Times today! The second shot of Bucky and Rocky in Toledo is just as charming, and there's a link to an article from Austin you're sure to enjoy. Midask9 shares a terrific Northern Lights shot and some excellent radio advice at It's Good to Be Us today, and Nikki's Simply a Bucky Fan has a dazzling Easter bunny and some excellent request resources for you, too.

At the Erwin Record's Country's Chatter blog, one of Bucky's earliest country music heroes (and one of everyone's current country favorites!) gets a profile and two great concert shots. Enjoy!

Click here to vote for Bucky at GAC.comVote for Bucky: Give "It's Good to Be Us" some pre-awards lovin' at GAC's Top 20 Country Countdown and at CMT's Top 20 Countdown. (You never know--it might turn up among the nominees next year!)

And of course, the ballot at the 2008 CMT Music Awards is open 24/7--register at CMT and vote for Bucky now, then pass along those links to everyone in your address book...and your best buddy's address book...and so on...

Have a magnificent Monday!

Bucky has a decent chance of hitting #11 this week on R & R, just one shy of that coveted top 10. Requests are more important now than ever.
