By request, Bucky Covington on stage at Coyote Joe's in Charlotte, North Carolina on 11/23; photo by the very kind Buckwild08, who shares more of her great concert images at Photobucket. Her videos from that rockin' evening are available at YouTube. Thanks so much, Buckwild08! Many thanks to our kind Anons in comments for word on this week's sales figures, via Ken Barnes of USA Today's Idol Chatter blog--it looks like a sales lull affected all the Idol alumni. Bucky Covington, the CD, sold 1,300 (down from 2,000) for a grand total of 327,000 and counting. And the late-in-the-week superstar polevault effect took hold at Radio & Records, too, where "It's Good to Be Us" is now #18, two spots away from last week's #16 finish. However--and this is an important "however"--it's still got that all-important bullet!
The song is still on the rise, and goodness knows we have experience with a slow rise toward the top of the charts. Last spring's journey with "A Different World" was quite the waiting game, but patience--and determination--paid off. (This might be a good time to slip in a reminder about those syndicated evening shows; Lia, The Big Time with Whitney Allen, After Midnite and your favorite local or syndicated country radio DJ could use a little bit of "It's Good to Be Us" to rev up their nightly fare...)Finally, here's a little mellow night music from Bucky Covington's Raisin' the Bar performance at Coyote Joe's, courtesy of the very generous Buckwild08, who had a perfect spot for this one! Enjoy Bucky's (and the very enthusiastic crowd's) sweet singalong version of "Drift Away". Have a great evening!--Winnie
Bucky's IG2BU is up one spot to #16 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anon! Working on the morning post now and I'll definitely post that good news out fornt. :)
ReplyDeleteCorrection: I thought this morning's Billboard for March 1st was the final tally. Unfortunately, March 8th is the new data and Bucky has dropped 2 places from #16 to #18.
