There's a great recap of the new Year's Eve bash in Chicago posted at the Fox boards today; lovincon's description of her evening at Tinley Park and her meet and greet with Bucky and Rocky Covington is a joy to read. Sounds like it was quite the party!
It's also quite a party at Mediabase, where the chart is back to post-holiday speed and the competition is heating up. Bullets abound, naturally, and huge positive numbers are the norm--Bucky Covington's single, "It's Good to Be Us", starts the day with two enormous bullets at #25 on the weighted and #26 on the Top 500. (Thanks, Dixie.) The flipside to that? Everyone else's bullets are enormous, too! This is a crucial week for requests, dedications, "Top X at X", calls to your nationally syndicated show of choice--whatever the shape it takes, Bucky's tune is lookin' for some sweet time on your speakers. Keep requesting "It's Good to Be Us" at your favorite local or streaming country station, and we'll keep watching the charts. It should be an interesting week!
On the live scene, you'll have two chances to catch Bucky in Nashville on the 12th--first at the Sound and Speed event for the 1:00 p.m. Backstage Garage Pass fan-fair session, then at the Grand Ole Opry with Joe Nichols, Rhonda Vincent, Opry member Del McCoury and the Old Crow Medicine Show. After that, Bucky and the band head to York, PA for a show at the Pullo Performing Arts Center on the 25th; tickets are available now at Seat Advisor. You can also snag a spot ($27 for the general public, $15 for Penn State students) at the Pullo Center Box Office, or by phone at 717-505-8900.
And of course, keep on checking Bucky's official website (those mystery venues are going to be named soon!) his MySpace, his Gruvr tour map and our own December/January Concert Roundup. 2008 is going to rock for Bucky and his fans--be there for the fun!

As most of our scout leaders (and our mothers!) advised us, it's always good to be prepared. The 2008 CMT Music Awards are happening in April, but the voting begins next month--and for many of us, this will be the first year that we'll be ready, eager and passionate to do more than just watch the festivities. The CMT extravaganza is country music's only fan-voted award show--so we've got the power to help get that belt-buckle trophy in Bucky's hands, y'all.
Here's how it works: the first round of nominees will be announced on Tuesday, February 5, and the first round of fan voting starts on CMT.com the same day. The final nominees will be announced in early March--which means we've got a month's worth of clicking to do. But it'll be well worth it for Bucky and for us--past history shows that the performers and the winners on the CMT Music Awards enjoy a nice second wind in album sales and digital downloads after the show.
And of course, it'll be a huge thrill to see a smiling Bucky stroll up to the podium, hair flying, to accept that big belt buckle trophy in April--and on 23,456 reruns of the awards all spring and summer long. (Okay, maybe not that many--but we all know CMT re-airs those awards a lot. Watching Bucky win one will never, ever get old...)
We'll keep you posted here, and bookmark CMT.com for the latest, as well. Get ready for some major excitement!

Finally, hop over to The Covington Times this morning and enjoy a great photo of the day, along with interesting news about changes at the Country Weekly message boards...
More soon--have a wonderful Wednesday!

Thanks, Buckyflowers! It's posted out front--and I have a feeling a lot of Rickey's readers loved Bucky's CD as much as we did. He'll do well in that one when the smoke clears on the 7th. I'll get it into the sidebar tonight, too. Take care! :)
