Quick Wednesday news: chartgazing, "fair" weather and more...

Bucky Covington shares a smile from the stage of the Ryman in Nashville during Saturday's Grand Ole Opry; photo by our very kind friend Danna. You can see more of Danna's beautiful shots here--thanks again! Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music videos for "It's Good to Be Us" and "A Different World" are available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his singles at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. A copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered at his official site or via his official fan club.

So far Wednesday's biggest news isn't 100% confirmed (we'll be sure to post an update as soon as that happens), but for now, it looks as though Bucky Covington and his band will be enjoying "fair" skies for a big part of the summer. Word has it that Bucky will be doing lots of those classic outdoor fair and festival shows he's said he loves so much as well as the huge, high-profile, prestigious country mega-festival gigs like Stagecoach, Country Thunder and Country USA. There'll be much more concert news coming very soon--stay tuned...

Click here to see Bucky Covington's video, It's Good to Be Us, on CMT Loaded Chart news: "It's Good to Be Us" enters its fourth day in the Top 20 at #20 on both the Mediabase weighted and Top 500 charts, with a very close race for #19 in progress. It's definitely a good time to get busy requesting--momentum's on our side! If your local country station has recently added Bucky's latest to the playlist, call them up and let them know how much you're enjoying hearing him on your hometown radio.

Upcoming shows: As noted above, there should be lots of news about Bucky's spring and summer schedule on the way soon--be sure to check his official tour page today and all the rest of this week as those blanks begin to fill up with exciting details! Meanwhile, Bucky's January is looking busy--he and his excellent band will play the Glass Cactus in Grapevine, TX on 1/19 (tickets here) , the Pullo Performing Arts Center in York, PA on 1/ 25 (tickets here), and he'll be opening for Trace Adkins at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell, MA on 1/31 (see ad in sidebar).

On the tube and around the net: Bucky's new Top 20 status apparently brings a few sweet airtime perks at GAC-TV--you'll be able to enjoy the video for "It's Good to Be Us three times today! It aired once already early this morning, but you can catch it at about 1:35 ET and again at 11:35 tonight. Feel free to watch it online at CMT, and show Bucky some affection at GAC's Top 20 Country Countdown, CMT's Top 20 Countdown, and at CMT's Pure Country Pure 12-Pack. (Wednesday's the last 12-Pack voting opportunity for the week--stop in and have a good time giving Bucky some unlimited applause...)

Another fun poll making the rounds: the Idol Thoughts blog's "Idol Madness" one-on-one challenge game is still in progress today, and Bucky's a first-round contender in a very close matchup. Give him a boost!

Over at The Covington Times, a beautiful Opry screencap by Hildi adorns the top of the page, and there's an expression of loving concern for Bucky's beautiful voice (a unique asset like that definitely deserves the best of care--we agree!) and a celebration of a very important anniversary--it was one year ago today that Bucky's debut single, "A Different World', was released to radio. What a sweet adventure that turned out to be, and what fun lies ahead! We are looking forward to enjoying the ride...

Finally, a very short but kinda sweet Opry-related surprise, via You Tube. Gotta love modern technology, yes?

More very soon--until then, enjoy your Wednesday!

  7. Hey, all!

Anon 6:46, will do and thanks--I know we're all looking to see "It's Good to Be Us" climb as high as it can...

Unknown, howdy and wasn't it great seeing Ducky, Rocky and the band gracing the Opry stage? A very cool moment, and I'm guessing there'll be more Opry stops where that came from. (What's all this about bats? They wouldn't dare disturb the fun...would they?)

Anon 3:13, thanks for the good news! I'm going to post that out from in a few. :)

Marzy and Anons 3:43 and 3:47, very interesting indeed! I know they've always loved "I'll Walk" at WKML--as far back as May they were playing it often enough to give it a respectable YES and Mediabase ranking--so it's pleasing but not surprising that it's in the Top 5 again there now as the "choose a single" poll rolls on. Very fun news--thanks!
