Coffee break news: Bucky Covington's a critics' favorite for best discs of 2007

A little coffee break news via Lyric Street Records-- enjoy!--Winnie

Nashville, TN- Bucky Covington is a critics' favorite! His self-titled debut CD, which opened at #1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart in April 2007, has been selected by critics at the Dallas Morning News and the Miami Herald as a favorite country release for 2007.

Howard Cohen of the Miami Herald selects Bucky's self-titled debut as one of only four country CDs in the publication's Top 100 Notable Happenings in 2007, calling it "the most heartfelt, honest CD to come out of the American Idol factory." Bucky Covington made the top 10 for Mario Tarradell's list of Top Country Discs for 2007 in the Dallas Morning News, calling it a "worthy, honest, workingman's country-by way- of-Southern-rock CD."

Bucky also wrapped the year as Country Aircheck's #1 New Artist for 2007 based on the strength of his top 5 first single "A Different World" and his current hit, "It's Good To Be Us." Cumulatively, both singles earned more than 643 million audience impressions in 2007.

Bucky Covington's self-titled CD released in April 2007 and opened at #1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart. With sales of 61,000 CDs in the first week of release, Bucky is not only 2007's biggest debut from a new country artist, but also the best first week sales and highest Top 200 debut for any new male country artist since Billy Ray Cyrus in 1992. Covington's national television appearances have included Live with Regis and Kelly, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Good Morning America and Fox & Friends. In early 2008 Bucky is scheduled to tour with Trace Adkins and later Dierks Bentley for the singer's "Throttle Wide Open" tour.

Good, but I was hoping for a little higher. Considering it was Christmas season. lets hope those numbers get better as IG2BU climbs the chart.

If Bucky goes by the votes on his myspace, looks like 'I'll Walk' may win the battle.I myself would love to see B&B get released next. Still may be too early to tell though.
