Thursday news: a busy New Year, new clips at YouTube, a "picturesque" podcast and more...

Bucky Covington on stage in Milwaukee; photo by our talented friend Midask9, who had a great spot for Bucky's recent show at the Northern Lights Theatre. You'll find more of her beautiful images here. Thanks again, Midask 9! Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video for "It's Good to Be Us" is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear his music atCMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. A copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered at his official site or via his official fan club.

We'll start off the morning with the biggest news from last night--some of Bucky Covington's dates with Dierks Bentley were posted yesterday, and the competition for tickets is already getting fierce. Bucky's joining Luke Bryan and Dierks for several dates in '08--a year that looks pretty busy, indeed. Below is Bucky's newly-revised concert schedule for 2008. We're leaving the rumored Porterfield Country Music Festival and Festival of the Bells dates off the calendar for now, but we'll add them if and when they're confirmed...

Bucky's appearance at Joyland in Bradenton tomorrow is a 100% confirmed party! The show kicks off two days in sunny Florida--if you're local, you can snag your seat ($10 in advance, $15 at the door) at the WCTQ studios, Carl Black GMC, Joyland, Granny's Motorsports or Metro PCS. And on Saturday, Bucky and the band head to Tallahassee for an all-ages show at Floyd's Music Store; get your tickets online right here, or buy them locally at CD Warehouse or Vinyl Fever. (94.9 TNT is sponsoring this one; tune in or log on for more info.) For all the latest on Bucky's road adventures, bookmark his official website, his MySpace, this fascinating animated Gruvr tour map and our December/January Concert Roundup , too.

And for a taste of what the summer concert season holds, here are two beautiful, professionally- filmed performance videos that were freshly posted in the wee hours this morning. Enjoy Bucky, Shaun, Ducky, Hans and Rocky's "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" and an energetic "A Different World" from the 2007 Jamboree in the Hills at YouTube. A big thanks to the videographer for sharing these! (Click screencap to visit YouTube.)

Catching Bucky on TV and radio is easy-- Christmas at the Tennessee repeats tonight at 5 pm ET on GAC, and Bucky's video for "It's Good to Be Us" airs on GAC at 7:08 tonight. (And naturally, we can help it get even more airtime with votes at GAC's Top 20 Country Countdown and CMT's Top 20 Countdown. CMT's Pure Country Pure 12-Pack voting is done for the week, but tune in tomorrow...)

Bucky's holding on strong at #25 on both the Mediabase weighted and Top 500 charts this morning--but look who's right behind him! Keep requesting "It's Good to Be Us" at your favorite local or streaming country stations and remember those "Top X at X" countdowns, too--we're still in "every request matters" mode, y'all. That Top 25 bragging right is worth fighting for! Bucky's irresistibly fun take on "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" hopped up one notch overnight--it's now #93 on the weighted chart. (We'lll squeeze the infomercial in right here: download your copy of Bucky's digital holiday treat at WalMart Music, Yahoo Music or iTunes.)

We'll close with a blast from the past that you might have missed--at the ACM Awards earlier this year, Bucky was interviewed by Jonathan and Tracy from Denver's 92.5 The Wolf, and the station's graciously archived the podcast here. A question about last summer's idol tour yields a surprising and very cool musical tidbit--Bucky and Kellie Pickler proposed doing the brilliant Kid Rock/Sheryl Crow hit "Picture" as their duet for the tour, but the tour producers nixed that song as being a bit too lyrically adult for the "Idol" concert crowd. However, the song that Bucky says the tour packagers counter-proposed...oh goodness. Let's just say we all dodged a big bullet, and leave it at that. (I sure hope someone was kidding!)

More later today--have a beautiful Thursday!

  2. Hello, Anon! I agree about the bullets, as you might have guessed. :)

About "Afternoon Delight"...hmmm! I guess the polite way to put is it that I am glad Bucky and Kellie are now free to chart their own musical paths...very glad. :)
