Here's a perfect way to start your Thursday morning--our very kind friend Janie was at last night's Lincoln show at Uncle Ron's, and she says that Bucky Covington and his band enjoyed an extremely enthusiastic reception from a fully-packed house. Her Photobucket gallery is posted here, and it's beautiful. (This shot might be an all time favorite...)
Janie also says that Bucky's Lincoln set included "I'll Walk" (she reports that he referred to it as "his favorite" on the CD) and "Please Come Home for Christmas". Huge thanks to Janie for the recap and for the great photos--she definitely caught the excitement!
There's a concert news flash at the Green Bay Press-Gazette today; the list of performers for next year's huge Country USA festival in Oshkosh, Wisconsin hasn't yet been posted on the festival's site, but the Gazette is reporting that Bucky will indeed be performing there on Thursday, June 26, 2008. Tickets are available now by phone at (920) 882-4949; see the Country USA site for the full scoop. (And if you're in the mood for a blast from the past, this sweet set of photos from Bucky's performance with Sawyer Brown at his very first Country USA is worth a second look...)

Bucky's musical holiday gift, a rockin' version of "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town", is hitting the airwaves in two new cities--congratulations to Bucky's fans in Tampa Bay, who can hear his Merry Christmas wishes on WQYK 99.5, and to the Denver country fans listening to KWLI/92.5 The Wolf. Good old 97.3 The Hawk in Des Moines was the first country station to hop on this irresistible goodie, and if your country station is spinning holiday tunes, it could be the next--call up, request Bucky and see. In the meantime, your opportunity to hear it online awaits at Bucky's official MySpace.
Here's an APB for Rocky Covington's many fans--there are changes ahead at RockyCovington.com, and you can be a part of the new look! If you had a chance to pose for a photo with Rocky, you can send it to fanphotos@rockycovington.com; a Fan Photo section is in the works. Sign up for Rocky's newsletter and you'll stay on top of all the changes. (And enjoy Rocky's fun new Q and A videos, while you're there...)

Janie, It was nice to meet you! What a blast the show was last night!! He gets better evertime I see him and I don't know how it's possible for him to get any better since I think he's already fantastic!!!
ReplyDeleteI'll try to get my pictures posted tomorrow. Heading out of town on business right now. I'm sure alot of my pix will look similar to Janie's because we were standing next to each other. :)
Janie, can you take a pix of the set list (or scan it) and post it so we can all see?
Rachel
ARGGG, getting really frustated now. NO Bucky on the CMT top 20 again.I don't think this video is going to make it on.
ReplyDeleteHi, Rachel and Anon! Rachel, that looks like it was a truly exciting time at Uncle Ron's--have a safe trip and thanks for bringing your camera along. You and Janie must have had a blast last night!
ReplyDeleteAnon, take heart--I bet you the video will debut on next week's CMT Top 20. The chart news and the buzz have been postive the past few days--maybe too late for this week's show, but in time for the next one--keep the faith. :)
I see the Jinglefest site says the DJ Bo will be broadcasting from 2p-7p on WIL. pogo
ReplyDeleteI am vacationing in CO a couple of hours from Denver so I immediately clicked on your Wkli link...if you click on request you have a place to vote for two of Bucky's songs..vote for 5 and then click on submit at the bottom..
ReplyDeletePogo and Anon, I am sorry I missed you yesterday! Thanks to you both--hoping that some great Jinglesfest photos and audio turn up at WIL over the weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd Anon, thanks for the tip on the Denver station! Very cool news. :)
