Bucky Covington and Rocky Covington share the microphone and the cheers during the WGAR Country Jam in Cleveland in another fantastic photo by the very talented Trish. Thanks again, Trish! Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. A copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered at his official site or via his official fan club.Last night's crowd-scenes video shoot for "It's Good to Be Us" was a hot one--literally. The warm temperatures in Kentucky didn't keep Bucky's devoted fans away, though--word has it that the call for extras got a huge response. We'll be on the lookout for tales from the scene in Bowling Green all day; in the meantime, here's the link to yesterday's WKBO news story about the shoot, complete with video. During the interview, Bucky mentioned that the completed video should probably be ready within a month--the fun motocross scenes and Bucky's exuberant music should make for a very exciting video ride on GAC and CMT this fall. Stay tuned!
The single itself has gathered a little heat overnight--"It's Good to Be Us" is once again #39 on both the Mediabase weighted and Top 500 charts, with two nice bullets. (Keep requesting "It's Good to Be Us" at your favorite local or streaming country station, y'all! And feel free to drop by Fayetteville's WKML today and zap a request for Bucky's newest to country@wkml.com--then tune into the "Top 5 at 6" tonight to see how he does.)
Bucky, Rocky, Don, Shaun and Hans are still enjoying a few days off--technically, anyway. (Sounds like those off days are busy, too, as last night proved!) This month's last big show happens on Sunday, when Bucky and company finish September with a bang at the Big Spring Jam in Huntsville:

Check out the links in our Tour Info section at left for more concert information--hope to see you at a show (or two, or more) this autumn.
Finally, here's a totally different link from the Finance Class blog--Professor Mahar linked to the AOL Music video of "A Different World", and asked his students to "think about how this song is a great example of the survivorship bias." (Survivorship bias is apparently an investor-specific, statistical version of "rose-colored-glasses nostalgia", with a bit of a study-tilting result. Being a Bucky Covington fan can be educational!)
Updated to add a very intriguing link to a Live Journal entry, via the kind folks at the Bonafide Bice blog; could there be a "Nashville Idols" piece in the works for an upcoming issue of People magazine?
On the way back we stopped at the Loveless Cafe. We happened to be there while People magazine was there shooting a spread about American Idols. We saw Kelly Pickler, Bucky Covington, a bunch of other idols, and Bo Bice was there but I didn't see him - just his red Mustang.
We'll definitely keep an eye out for more on on this one! For now, be sure to grab a copy of the October 8th issue of Country Weekly (featuring a great "Seven Questions for Bucky" article and a fantastic portrait), and check out "Witness" from Bo Bice's excellent upcoming See the Light album at the newly and beautifully revamped BoBice.com.
More later--enjoy your Wednesday!
People, Country Weekly, Us, Blender. He's eveywhere!! :-) How are you? When is that issue coming out?
ReplyDelete~D
Howdy, Dina! :) No clue about People, but the CW "Seven Questions" issue is out now. (Calendar should be out sometime in October--can't wait!) Good to see ya!
ReplyDeleteDixie said they cheered for 4 hours at the video shoot. They were the crowd at his stage performance. She met up with Leaf and Janie. Janie got hugs from Bucky between shoots.
ReplyDeleteHope to hear more today, but last night they were exhausted from the heat and intensity of the experience. Was that Bucky in the black and white motocross outfit in the video? Hot outfit!
#39 Mediabase-great number!
Looking forward to People Mag's article.
Flowers said the calendar wasn't in Country Weekly's issue that came out. I wonder when that happens?
pogo
Bucky and Bo in one place..... now they know what that does to me!!!
ReplyDeleteHey, Pogo and Kathy!
ReplyDeletePogo, thanks for the video shoot details--I can't wait to see Janie, Leaf and Dixiegirl in the finished video clip! It must have been tiring , but oh so worth it. Wish we could have all been there!
I can't see the video (my outdated computer--sigh) but no doubt he looked sharp in the motocross gear!
And my apologies if my post was a little confusing--the current (October 8th)edition of Country Weekly has the "Seven Questions with Bucky" article, but the Chevy Calendar won't be on the newsstands until mid-October. Country Weekly cover dates are actually a little in the "future"--this is an old magazine publishing method of making sure it looks current on the newsstand. :)
And Kathy, I am so with you on Bucky and Bo! That's a whole lot of musical Southern sunshine there--can't wait to see it on the magazine rack!
"survivorship bias" in A Different World-that ought to be interesting to follow.
ReplyDeleteNot being one to read the last page of a book in case I die before I'm finished it, I'm just happy to have survived a flying tin of tuna chucked off a balcony while walking by View Towers the other day. (not the most advantageous high rise in our City).
I don't dwell on the things we didn't know were killing us before. Can't go back.
pogo
I'm glad that tuna tin missed you, too--eek! I agree--you can't go back. The beauty of the past is that you can always take the best of it into the present as a sweet memory...or a hit song. :)
