Tuesday news--finally!

By request (again!), Bucky Covington strikes a heartfelt note in this photo from his Grand Ole Opry performance in April. Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club. It's a quiet news day so far--Bucky's next officially scheduled gig is Thursday, at the Ross County Fair in Ohio--but the charts at Mediabase never take a break, and "A Different World" once again started the day at #5 on the weighted listings and #6 on the Top 500. What's different today is that the song at #4 seems to have picked up a hint of a second wind. Is there an imposing gap between #4 and #5? Yep. Can we bridge that gap and keep Bucky's single movin' on up to the top? Definitely. There's quite a lot more to say about the short but crucial trip from Top Five to the pinnacle of the charts--so much that it merits a post to itself. But for now, keep requesting "A Different World" at your favorite local and streaming country stations, and pay special attention to your local "Top X at X" countdowns and your favorite nationally syndicated shows, both weeknights and weekends. (Short version--every request means a lot these days!)

And speaking of syndicated shows, a reminder about Bucky's upcoming visit with Lia--he'll be on Thursday night's program. Check Radiotime for a list of stations that carry the Lia show, and get ready for a little audio delight. (Times listed are Central--be sure to adjust to your time zone.) Bucky will also be Lon Helton's co-host on the next edition Country Countdown USA; the show's website features a handy station finder.

You might have spotted Bucky in this morning's USA Today, as well--the Mediabase charts for the week are in the Tuesday edition, and Bucky's beautiful #5 is there in newsprint. (Thanks, Buckyflowers!)

Last but not at all least, if you're in the market for some concert memories, there are pictures from last weekend's concerts popping up all over. The Albany Democrat-Herald has two photo galleries from the Oregon Jamboree posted here, and a kind concertgoing blogger has some lovely photos and memories from WE fest posted here.

Finally, be sure to stop in at Team Covington tonight. Kathy's got a fun link to CMT's WE Fest coverage and more, as well as a favorite vintage photo with the much-missed hat. (Have fun in Belpre, Kathy!)

I'll close with a traditional (and familiar) evening reminder: Lia, The Big Time with Whitney Allen, Danny Wright All Night and After Midnite all take requests throughout the week, and "A Different World" would be a wonderful way to wind down your night. Call, email, request Bucky and enjoy! If your local country station doesn't carry these nationally syndicated shows, feel free to ask your friendly neighborhood DJ to play Bucky's single.

Thanks for being so patient with me and my dying, lightning-fried computer--with any luck we'll be back on the regular posting schedule tomorrow morning. Bless you!--Winnie

I hope Allaccess is way off this week. They have Bucky at a incredible -39% for sales this week. That would drop him to the lower 5000's. Yikes!!!Thats harsh.
BTW The spins that Bucky lost yesterday on mediabase he gained back + a few. Keep requesting y'all lets get closer to the #1.

Pizzi...ya might try the syndicated shows each day...for you can listen to them online so requests can come from anywhere.

But oh my...what city do you live in without a country music station? I want to make a note to never move there. :) hahaha

I am not panicking on the chart. Although a labelmate is on Bucky's tail, TS and RA may be stalling...we shall see! There is always hope!
