Bucky Covington enjoys a moment underneath electric stars in this magical portrait by Mike Clifton. Mr. Clifton of Local Sports Online was on hand for Bucky's concert at Wild Bill's in Atlanta in June, and his stunning gallery of shots from the show is an absolute must-see. Thanks again to Mr. Clifton for his incredible images--his contact info is available at the gallery link, and his beautiful work speaks for itself. Enjoy! Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club.

If you're looking for Bucky Covington this Monday morning, you just might find him on your local newsstand. Bucky's hit the presses at the Dallas Morning News, in an article about the upcoming American Idol auditions there. The story discusses the difficulties that some very popular finalists have had with turning their TV stardom into CD sales, and Bucky spoke about his own experience as a Carrie Underwood fan:

"It's one thing to stay at home and watch a really good TV show," season five Idol finalist Bucky Covington says by phone from Nashville. "You can pick up the phone and even vote. That's a great thing 'cause I've never picked up a phone and voted. But it's still different from going out, picking up an album and buying it. It's just a good TV show, and a lot of people watch it for that fact.

"I'm a big fan of Carrie Underwood, but she put out three singles before I went out and actually bought her album."

Bucky also talked a little about the effect of the familiar (sometimes over-familiar) covers that contestants sing during their time on the show:

"If we would all get up there on American Idol, 30 or 40 million people watching and we sang our original music or something new somebody else wrote, I guarantee you the next week there will be about 5 million people watching," he said.

The article goes on to mention the hurdles ex-contestants known for cover songs have to jump in order to re-enchant the public with all new material. (The Dallas Morning News doesn't say it, but I will--with very well chosen songs, Bucky's distinctive vocal talents and a killer, radio-friendly Mark Miller production, Bucky Covington, the CD, got over that hurdle quite stylishly. The album's #1 debut and continued presence in the Top 15 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart say it all!)

Bucky's single, "A Different World" is also gracing the stratosphere on the country singles charts over at Mediabase--it's currently #5 on the weighted listings and #6 on the Top 500, and the suspense continues. How high can it go? This week will be a wild one, with superstars making moves in both directions--keep requesting "A Different World" at your favorite local and streaming country stations, and remember your local "Top X at X" countdowns and your favorite nationally syndicated shows tonight, too. We like those bullets as plump as possible, y'all! (And even though Bucky's video has fallen from GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown, a vote there today is an excellent show of support, and a good way of saying how much we're anticipating seeing his next video on GAC...)

Bucky's also part of this morning's Chillicothe Gazette--the short profile includes quotes from Bucky and Mark Miller, as well as information about his upcoming show at the Ross Country Fair on Thursday. After that, Bucky, Rocky, Shaun, Hans and Don hit the Belpre Homecoming in Belpre, Ohio--Kathy of Team Covington will be there, and we can't wait to hear all about her rockin' good time! For your chance to enjoy a rockin' good time with Bucky, be sure to bookmark the tour schedule at his official site. Hope to see you at a show very soon...

We'll have more news (and with luck, some fresh new concert photos from the weekend) for you here later on today. Have a great Monday morning!
