Coffee break news: the concert scene this weekend...go!

Bucky Covington in concert in Verona, New York; photo by Janie. Thanks!

Bucky Covington's single is awesome, his album is sheer audio delight-- and for those of us who are certified live-music junkies, the only way to augment the pleasure of hearing Bucky on the radio and on our CD and mp3 players is to get up close and personal at a wild and wonderful concert. Bucky, Rocky, Don, Shaun and Hans put on a killer live show, and this summer tour offers experiences ranging from big-scale outdoor festivals to plush intimate indoor theaters, and everything in between. If you've got the urge to hit a concert, go! You'll be so glad you did...

This weekend's concerts illustrate how varied--and fun--the live Bucky Covington experience can be. Saturday's State College show in Pennsylvania takes place at the splendid, intimate State Theatre, a recently-renovated historic 600-seat venue with a new state-of-the-art sound system, comfortable seating and lots of great eateries close at hand. If you're more of a "velvet seat" kind of concertgoer than a campground festival fan (and you know who you are), this is the show for you! Good seats have just been released--this is one of those times when waiting until the last minute really does pay off--and you can snag yours at the State Theatre online box office now. State College, Pennsylvania is an easy, scenic drive from both the Pittsburgh metro and NYC/New Jersey areas--click here for directions to the venue.

And if the classic rock-and-roll roadhouse atmosphere is more your style, catch Bucky and the band at the famous Bottle and Cork in Dewey Beach, Delaware on Sunday. The 21-and-over Bottle and Cork bills itself as "the greatest rock and roll bar in the world", and this list of notables who've graced their stage--from Dwight Yoakam to Bo Diddley--lends weight to that claim. Bucky Covington takes the stage there at 8:00 on Sunday night; your tickets for this general admission show are available now at Ticketmaster, and a rowdy (and rockin') good time is guaranteed for all!

Looking for more opportunities to catch Bucky live? Hit the tour page on his official site for all the current dates, and mark your calendars--hearing Bucky in concert is a memory you'll smile about all year long. More soon!--Winnie

  2. Thanks, Anon! My morning post today was so longwinded that the mention of the conference call there with the concert roundup likely got lost in all my blah-blah. :) Hopefully you can make it to the show, but if not, the call should be a blast! I promise to post another reminder soon.

  6. Pizzi, I was just over at the Friday morning post, but I'll say it here, too--you are going to have a great time at the B&C, and I bet your cousin will be challenged no more by the time it is over. Can't wait for your memories from the night!
