Thursday news: lucky number 11, and a New York visit...(updated)

By request, here's Bucky Covington rockin' out with a smile on stage in May at Hershey Park; click here to enjoy a gorgeous gallery of concert photos by our friend Pizzi. (Thanks again, Pizzi!) Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club.

It's the day after the Fourth of July--the fireworks have been oohed and ahhed at for another year, the barbecue is a memory (unless you're lucky enough to have some leftovers this morning) and Bucky's pool party at the Silverton is...well, a bit of a mystery at this hour. I'll resist the urge to make a "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" joke, but so far, neither the Coyote Country 104.3 photo gallery nor a quick look at the public fan hangouts has yielded any photos or recaps. We'll keep an eye out, though!

The next big event is Bucky's appearance on Fox & Friends tomorrow--this'll be his first nationally-televised performance of "A Different World" in quite some time, and now that his single is as close to the Top Ten as it can possibly get, we'll bet there'll be a whole lot of viewers singing right along. The show airs from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. ET on the Fox News Channel. (Edited at 11:00 a.m. ET: The forecast tomorrow calls for rain, so Bucky's performance has been moved indoors--with no live audience. NYC fans, skip the plaza and be sure to catch Bucky from the comfort of your own sofa...)

And speaking of that Top Ten quest--all we have to say this morning is that if you're very fond of the number 11, today is your lucky day. Bucky's "A Different World" is #11 on both the Mediabase weighted and the Top 500 charts, and his album comes in at #11 for the second straight week (complete with the yellow background indicating rising sales) on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart. The Radio & Records/BDS chart breaks the pattern a little--Bucky's #12 this week, a hefty jump from last week's #15 spot. Keep requesting Bucky at your favorite local and streaming country stations--a Top Ten debut single is a perfect start to those twenty years or more Bucky's aiming for, and it's beautiful to know that we can help make that dream a reality. And as always, feel free to stop in at CMT's Top 20 Countdown and GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown and show Bucky's video some love, too.

Coming up on Bucky's packed calendar: a post-game show at the Knights Stadium in Charlotte this Saturday night. Fireworks of all sorts are on the menu, from the sound of things:

On July 7, country singer Bucky Covington, a former contestant on American Idol, will perform in a post-game concert that also features fireworks presented by Bank of America. Fireworks will commence after the last out, followed by the concert.

You can keep up with the busy summer tour schedule at Bucky's official site--hope you'll get that Bucky Covington live experience very soon.

Edited to add a possible TV tidbit to watch for--parts of the Country Concert at Hickory Hills, where Bucky will be appearing with Sawyer Brown on Sunday, July 8th, will be televised on DirecTV later this month, according to the Dayton Daily News:

Eight hours of the four-day gathering amidst the Shelby County corn and bean fields will be televised July 28-29 on DirecTV's original programming channel.

No word yet on whether Sawyer Brown and Bucky will make the final edit, of course, but if you're a DirecTV subscriber, you've got a possible bonus treat in store. (And if you're not, there's still the July 23rd "CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock" special to look forward to on ABC. Sadly--and surprisingly--Bucky's name is nowhere to be found on the most recent ABC page about the special, but it still sounds like a fun night of music and memories, and who knows who might pop up during the course of the show?)

Stay tuned for more news as the week gets back into full speed. Have a terrific Thursday!--Winnie
