Sunday news: concert reviews, Opry memories and more...

Bucky Covington shares a smile with a fan at an autograph signing before his Lycoming County Fair show; photo courtesy of the_mumbler, who shares more beautiful shots from the concert here. (Thanks so much for your kindness!) Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy, iTunes , WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club.

A great time was had by all at the WGNA Countryfest yesterday in New York, according to this review of Saturday's concert, via the Albany Times Union . The reviewer praised Bucky's "fine throaty rasp", chose "American Friday Night" and "Bible and the Belt" as standouts, and noted that Bucky's "killer cover" of "Suspicious Minds" would be "a certain hit if he releases it". And over at MJ's Big Blog, Donna's delightful recap of Bucky's recent concert in Jackson, TN is a must-read--Bucky Slide and all. Bucky's got a few days off, from the looks of things--his next scheduled stop is the Country Thunder USA festival in Wisconsin on the 21st, where he'll join Sawyer Brown on stage. Bucky Covington's concert schedule is available at his official site, and he'll be all over the country in the weeks ahead. Hope you'll catch him in your neck of the woods!

You can definitely catch Bucky on the radio, where his debut single, "A Different World" is a Top Ten sensation on both the Mediabase weighted and Top 500 charts--and with a little luck and a lot of requests, we could be doing a Top Five happy-dance in the near future. This single's got legs for miles! Keep requesting "A Different World" at your favorite local and streaming country stations, and let your friendly neighborhood DJ know how great it is to hear the song on your local airwaves. (Feel free to give Bucky's sunny video a boost on CMT's Top 20 Countdown and GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown ballots, too.)

And we'll wind down for now with a TV reminder--Grand Ole Opry Live on GAC features Bucky's first televised Opry performance. The show originally aired in April, and you can relive the magic today at 12 noon and 7 p.m. ET. It'll be repeated later in the week as well; click here for more airtimes. We're hoping Bucky graces the Opry stage again soon--with all the road experience he's logged since April, and with a killer album's worth of songs to choose from, it would be an amazing third time around...

More later today--have a great Sunday!
