Quick Friday update: Bucky Covington's on the road again...

Photo by Matt Huesmann for CMT. Bucky Covington shares a wave and a bright smile on the red carpet at the CMT Music Awards in Nashville in May. Bucky's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club. (Photo by Matt Huesmann /CMT)

We'll have a longer post for you here later today, but for now, here's a very quick glance at what's happening...

Bucky's chart-climbing feats continue to be the biggest news of the week--"A Different World" remains at #6 on the Mediabase weighted chart and #7 on the Top 500 as of the morning listings, but that huge 566 spin increase on the latter chart marks this as a song on its way up--fast. Keep requesting "A Different World" at your favorite local and streaming country stations, ya'll. (Bet we could all sing that last sentence in our sleep, now!) All those local "Top X at X" and nationally syndicated radio show requests add up too, as do our supportive clicks for Bucky's video at CMT's Top 20 Countdown and GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown. Top Five (and higher!) are just around the corner. How high, and how fast? It's good to know we've got a say in that with our phone calls and emails...

And as we mentioned yesterday, Bucky, Don, Shaun, Hans and Rocky will rock the lush showroom at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, New York at 8 tonight; if you'll be in the area, why not check Ticketmaster.com for a last minute-ticket, if available? The Friday night rave-up kicks off a weekend of gigs in venues as varied as can be--Saturday, Bucky and the band hit the Barnstable County Fair in Massachusetts for an evening concert, and on Sunday, the fun winners-only WSOC Redneck Yacht Club listener cruise sets sail in Charlotte. For your chance to enjoy Bucky Covington live, bookmark the tour page at his official site and check back often. This is one show you'll want to experience again and again!

We'll wrap things up for the time being with a pair of must-visit destinations--Kathy at Team Covington has news about Bucky's upcoming Labor Day show that'll be a treat for the eyes and ears, and Sunscreen's updates at the Bucky Truck Stop at Rawkhands are always a delight.

More later today--see you in a little while!
