Thursday news: chart update, concert reviews and a look ahead...

Thanks, Mr. Crisler. And thanks for the request, K.--enjoy! By request (again!), a fun blast from the past-- Bucky Covington smiles for the cameras on the red carpet at the CMT Music Awards in Nashville last month. Visit Music City Update for lots of fantastic Nashville event photos by Aaron Crisler. Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy, iTunes , WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club. Photo by Aaron Crisler/ Music City Update .com

Here's a sweet concert review to start off your Thursday morning with a smile. The Highland Community News was there for Bucky Covington's show at the Brandin' Iron Saloon in San Bernadino, and he, Don, Shaun, Rocky and Hans made quite an impression on the reviewers and the crowd. (We're not sure if the album sales figure mentioned in the story is 100% accurate yet--but it will be, eventually. Mark my words...)

Billboard's
Top Country Albums chart seems to be supporting that long-range prediction this week--Bucky Covington is looking exceptionally good at #9 there, with the beautiful yellow background that indicates "records with the greatest airplay and sales gains this week". And at Radio & Records/BDS , Bucky's single "A Different World" is at #16 for the second week in a row on the Country Singles chart, with a solid audience increase. Mediabase's twice-daily charts show the single at #14 on the weighted chart and #15 on the Top 500 for the morning--and that second bullet could definitely use a bit more plumping-up. (I bet you're not surprised to see a bold-print reminder to keep requesting Bucky at your favorite local and streaming country stations right here, are you? But it's especially important this week, with all those mature hits falling from the top of the chart and Top Ten opportunity knocking hard...)

Bucky and Sawyer Brown take the stage tonight at the Country USA Music Festival in Oshkosh, which kicks off a very busy weekend on tour--he'll be in Allentown tomorrow for an event sponsored by WCTO/Cat Country 96 (the station streams; keep an ear out for a possible interview on Friday morning), then the show heads to Michigan for Saturday's B93 Birthday Bash at the Ionia Free Fairgrounds, and the Mountain Country Music Festival in Farwell on Sunday. You can keep up with Bucky's busy schedule at his official site--hope to see you at a concert very soon!

We'll close with those handy video voting links--show Bucky some love at CMT's Top 20 Countdown, and GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown today.

More later--enjoy your Thursday morning!

LOL..that wonderful article from Highland News. That was the best kudos I have ever read for the entire band. Having watched them all in Atlanta last weekend, that is exactly how tight they have become..great performers. I am laughing at the number of CD's sold..let's get that number in the press quickly ....let Billboard and all the other charts I have mentioned above know the REAL numbers. Here's hoping for 2 and a half mil really soon.
