Sunday news: Philly memories, calendar modeling, shopping tips, CMT poll and more...

Thanks, Minie! Bucky Covington sings out at a recent concert in Turlock CA; click here to enjoy a beautiful set of concert photos by the very kind Minnie. Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club.

A little flash post to start off Sunday:

Edited to add--There's a new poll happening at CMT's Interact page at the moment: "Which of these performers at Friday night's CMA Festival concert would you most like to meet?" Bucky's one of the choices, and the competition is in full swing--vote now and have your say!

Bucky Covington is finally about to enjoy a couple of days of rest and relaxation, if the official tour schedule is any indication. He and the band will hit Chicago on Tuesday the 12th to do a Wrigleyville Rooftop show in conjunction with the Cubs' Country Music Night promotion. (Baseball and great music--sounds like a home run!) You can find out more about the show at the US99 site.

Bucky's Philadelphia set as part of yesterday's WXTU 23rd Anniversary concert was a big hit with the crowd there, and several fans at Bucky's official forums (registration required) were there to share the fun. The station's photo album contains mostly shots of the audience as of this hour, but we did find two images of Bucky...sort of. Here's Bucky's back as he signs autographs at the venue, and Bucky's hair and arm with the back of Ron Harris' head, also taken at the autograph table. (It's a safe bet there will be some more face-forward shots today, both from the station and the kind fans in the audience. Stay tuned...)

Speaking of staying tuned, Kathy's post about today's GAC CMA Fest programming has been updated this morning--hop over to Team Covington for the latest word on the show. And while you're there, be sure to enjoy her fun shopping tip about a certain very cute T-shirt. Is Bucky starting a little fashion craze this summer?

Among the many delights at the Bucky Truck Stop now is this Saturday note from Sunscreen, who saw yesterday's GAC interview: "Bucky was picked as one of the models for the famous Chevy Country Music Stars Calendar. I wonder which month is going to be the hottest month of the year no matter what the temperature is outside?" Great news--I've been hoping for this ever since the beautifully-photographed 2007 Chevy Calendar popped out of an autumn edition of Country Weekly last year! It's a gorgeous, heavy/glossy full-color calendar that looks nothing like a freebie; as a matter of fact, the 2007 version, featuring country stars, Chevy trucks and the sights of Nashville is hanging near my desk as I type these words. You can get this year's model in downloadable .pdf form online at the magazine's site. Huge congratulations to Bucky on this very prestigious modeling gig! Look for the 2008 Chevrolet calendar in an October issue of Country Weekly.

On the charts, "A Different World" is lookin' fine at #14 on the Mediabase weighted listing, but suffered a "pole-vaulting star" bump down a spot to #16 on the Top 500 this morning. Request Bucky at your favorite local and streaming country stations, and be sure to give Bucky and his video a boost today at CMT's Top 2o Countdown, GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown and CMT's Pure 12-Pack , too.

More later today--have a beautiful Sunday!

  2. Nothing to be ascared of! :) I left a note on your blog, but in case you don't see it, don't worry--Blogger auto-upgraded us so you shouldn't have any problems with the new template. I have been practicing template changes offline (I am bored with mine, too) and it all seems to work about the same except for some of the new "move the element" stuff.

Whatever you do, I know it's going to be beautiful. Have fun!
