Friday news: Power Picks, Cali dreaming continues, Music City Update and more...

Thank you, Mr. Crisler! Bucky Covington on stage May 10th at the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville; visit Music City Update for a beautiful gallery of concert photos by Aaron Crisler. Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club. Photo by Aaron Crisler/ Music City Update.com

Bucky's video for "A Different World" will face a head-to-head challenge today on C
MT's Power Picks, which begins at 12 noon ET; click here to go directly to the Power Picks main page. At noon, hit the "Vote Now" button, keep that voting window open and get ready to mouse-click away! Results in comments later today...

What better way to kick off June and an amazing summer than with a Bucky Covington concert? If you're in the KJUG listening area today, you can do just that--Bucky, Rocky, Shaun, Hans and Don start the station's Summer Concert Series with a show at Preferred Outlets on 1407 Retherford, in Tulare. The fun starts at 7:30 Pacific, so bring a lawn chair, and get there early for a great spot--word has it that Bucky's California shows have been very popular. Have a fantastic time! (Stop in at Bucky's official site and browse his tour schedule for a show near you--he'll be on the road all summer long...)

A bit of deja vu on the charts this morning; "A Different World" is maintaining its sweet bulleted #15 spot on the Mediabase Top 500 and weighted listings. (Request "A Different World" at your favorite local and streaming country stations; this week's space between #14 and #15 is so tight that this weekend's requests will have an even bigger impact than usual. So go for it, y'all.)

It's been an exciting week on the video charts, of course, with Bucky topping the CMT Top 20 Countdown for the very first time yesterday, and returning to the number one spot on CMT's Pure 12-Pack . (Feel free to click that link and vote for him again!) Now all we need is a #1 soon at GAC's Top Twenty to give Bucky a win on all three major countdowns. It's doable! Vote daily, get your Bucky-fan friends to vote daily, and see what happens next Friday.

Finally, here's some great news for photo-loving fans: Music City Update (the place to be if you're keeping up with the freshest photos from Nashville events) has just started a mailing list. Sign up on the main page, and you'll have the first word on what's happening at the site. Aaron Crisler, who took the beautiful shot at the head of this post, will be on hand for CMA Fest--can't wait to see his images from that extravaganza! (The newest gallery there features Keith Anderson onstage and backstage at the Wolf listener appreciation party. Enjoy!) I loved the look of this new graphic, too--that's some very impressive company Bucky's keeping...

  1. I know!! Look at that banner! Legends and Bucky! Gotta love it! I really hope to plan for the CMA festival next year. Another 7 1/2 hour Bucky trip this year may have killed Ira LOL or he may have killed me I'm not sure :)

  4. Kathy and Marzy, hi there! LOL, Kathy--yep, being killed is a bad way to start off summer concert season. :) I hope we'll get to see each other at the Fest next year, though!

Marzy, thanks for the GAC update--I wanted to thank you earlier today, but thunderstorms here made me shut down the PC for a while. Great news! That GAC #1 is so going to happen...

And that next Power Picks win is going to happen, too. (Thanks Anon!)
