Friday news: CMA Fest memories, speeding bullets, tour time and more...

Thanks, Pizzi! By request, Bucky Covington strikes a happy note on stage in May at Hershey Park; click here to enjoy a beautiful gallery of concert photos by our friend Pizzi. Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy, iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club.

The CMA Fest is over for the year, but the memories linger; CMT has added brand new videos to the Loaded section, GAC is offering much in the way of roundup programming all weekend long, and of course, the ABC primetime special "CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock" airs Monday, July 23 at 9:00 - 11:00 p.m. ET. Thinking about going to the 2008 rave-up? Get your tickets now, if you can. (The Gold Circle seats for next year are already spoken for, but there's still time to grab a good spot for next year's concerts, which happen June 5-8, 2008...)

Bucky's debut single "A Different World", is looking as bright as it sounds through your headphones this morning. It's beautifying Mediabase at #13 with a increasing bullet on both the weighted chart and the Top 500. (Nice going!) A Top Ten single is very much within our sights, y'all. How soon will it happen? There's no telling, but our requests and video votes are a crucial part of this happy momentum. So--sing along with me now!--request Bucky at your favorite local and streaming country stations, and hop over to on CMT's Top 20 Countdown, (once per week) GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown (once daily) and CMT's Pure 12-Pack ballots to give him a boost, too.

In road news, the big Atlanta-area Wild Bill's show is tonight--tickets may still be available at Ticketmaster -- and tomorrow, Bucky and company head West for a show at the Wapello County Fair with Sawyer Brown. Bookmark Bucky's official tour page and you'll always be on top of the concert scene! We're hoping the the line dance to "Bible and the Belt" is part of the fun at Wild Bill's tonight--stay tuned for recaps this weekend...

(Apologies for the short, late post--I'm sneaking onto Blogger between appointments today. Hope to see you tonight--have a great Friday!--Winnie)

I have invited my son and daughter in law, who live in Atlanta, to join us tonight for Bucky's show. Well, she just sent me a link to this site and asked if I knew about Buckymania. That was so sweet of her. Needless to say , I check here prior to my first cup of coffee in the morning. How cool to have a new viewer, Winnie! BF

  6. Hi, Anon 11:50 (and your twin :)--that's quite an introduction to the GAC Replay show! Could the host be a fan, too?

And Anon 12:31, thanks for the heads-up on the 12 Pack retirement--I'll post that out front. I guess they'll put him back on when single #2 rolls around...

And Buckyflowers, what a sweet compliment from you and your daughter in law...thanks! It's really an honor to have both of you stop in, and please tell her I said hello. (Bucky really deserves the honors, though, for being so interesting to read about. :) I know you'll have a wonderful time at the show tonight--enjoy!

i have gotten pretty used to seeing Bucky's mug all over the web and on TV but it still tickles me to no end to see Don (Ducky) Medlock in pics and on the telly. If you haven't met Ducky and his wife then you haven't met two of the coolest people ever!

  10. Whoops! Thanks, Anon. CMA, ACM, GAC, CMT...lots of initials to remember. Who could blame us for getting a little scrambled now and then? :)

And hello, unknown--bet there are a lot of fans reading here who've had the pleasure! You know, I am so geographically disadvantaged that I still haven't had a chance to see Bucky do a full set with the whole band yet (my last live Covington show was the Opry back in March) but I am really looking forward to hearing, seeing and meeting Mr. and Mrs. Medlock sometime this summer. Wish me luck!

winnie, when you get to meet Ducky, ask him about the "ask scott johnson" segment of the Suntrust Bank Robbery Service, Inc. act. he'll get a kick out of that one. thanks for putting up the band pics (and a mighty fine band they are!)
