Friday news: Bucky Covington's live buzz, chart update and more...

If you're in Allentown tonight, or Michigan this weekend, you're in for some excellent live music over the next few days. Bucky Covington's headlining the Cat Country 96 tenth-anniversary concert this evening at Crocodile Rock; you can grab one of the few remaining tickets at the venue's website. Definitely a must-see if you're anywhere near the area!

Bucky moves from that relatively intimate indoor stage to two huge outdoor events in Michigan on Saturday and Sunday. He's due to take the stage at the big B93 Birthday Bash at the Ionia Free Fairgrounds on Saturday afternoon at 4;30 or so (you'll find an excellent article about the Bash in this morning's Ionia Sentinel- Standard); then the bus rolls into Farwell for the first-ever Mountain Country Music Festival. If you weren't able to win a Bash ticket from B93, you've still got a great show ahead in Farwell, and if you are going to the Bash, how many weekends will you get a chance to hear Bucky on back-to-back days? Might as well hit both--and bring your camera...

On the charts today, there's turbulence--and opportunity. "A Different World" remains at #14 on the Mediabase weighted chart and #15 on the Top 500 listings this morning; the bullet's gone from the latter and looking very slim on the weighted charts. Keep requesting Bucky at your favorite local and streaming country stations, and think of those three wide-open spaces near the top of the charts as opportunity for those requests to make a big difference this weekend...

We'll wind things down with a couple of TV notes--Bucky's next CMT Power Picks matchup happens on Tuesday, 6/26 (we'll post a reminder closer to showtime), and he's scheduled to appear on Fox and Friends on Friday, 7/6.
