First look at Tuesday: more Philly photo goodness and a contest, too... (updated)

It's true that I've been a little...um, insistent about the importance of those requests we've all been making to our local stations for "A Different World", but here's a request reminder with a sweetener you'll love. From Bucky's MySpace blog:

For all your help with requesting "A Different World"... I think a reward is in store!
Over the next two weeks if you reply to this blog each time you call in and request "A Different World" on your local radio stations... TWO WINNERS will be randomly picked to receive an autographed picture!

It's always nice to get a chance to win a great prize for something you're already doing--check out the full post at the MySpace blog, request Bucky's single, have fun, and good luck!

In other photo news, WXTU has more photos posted from their 23rd Anniversary show last Saturday--you can't miss the album where Bucky's shots are, since his smiling face is the "cover" graphic. The gallery features many meet and greet snaps as well as a few performance shots--if you said hello to Bucky backstage, you might be among the happy fans captured by the station's cameras.

Tonight, Bucky, Rocky, Shaun, Don and Hans rock the crowd at a winners-only show for the Chicago Cubs' Country Music Night promotion. US 99 are sponsoring the event--if you're local, it wouldn't hurt to listen in and see if there's a last minute opportunity in the air...

Bucky's bus returns to his home state of North Carolina tomorrow for an happening sponsored by WQDR in Raleigh, and he'll have two shows the following day at the Lincoln Theatre; then he'll head to Duluth, Georgia for a show at Wild Bill's. (You can grab a ticket for the Georgia rave-up right here.) Bookmark Bucky's official tour schedule to keep up with all the latest road news!

"A Different World" is #13 on the Mediabase weighted chart. (We're expecting that bullet to get its beautiful pointed head back next to Bucky's name anytime now.) It's holding steady at #14 (with a bullet) on the Tuesday a.m. Top 500 . He can give him some audio and video applause today with radio requests, as well as votes at CMT's Top 2o Countdown, GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown and CMT's Pure 12-Pack ballots.

Album sales estimates will resume at Hits Daily Double at approximately 7:30 a.m. Pacific; with the final results coming later today. (As of 9:30 a.m. ET, with 55% of the reports in, Bucky looks poised for a return to the Top 50 on Billboard's all-genre Top 200 chart. Will that hold? Stay tuned and check back often!)

We'll wrap things up for now with a bit of fun--and encouraging--art. Kathy at Team Covington has a fantastic trade ad for "A Different World" posted this morning; it's fun and enlightening to see how Bucky is backed by his label in the industry press.

And last but definitely not least, a little glimpse behind the scenes at Bucky's post-performance CMA Fest press chat at LP Field on Friday Night, via Beverly Keel of The Tennessean:

Bucky Covington signed for 6 hours in his booth today. "I’m just glad my line wasn’t short because that is an option." He said when you play the same song every night, it’s easy to forget how that music can have such an impact on people.

This was his first CMA Music Fest and his first time to play a stadium. "It’s definitely big. The more times I can do that the better."

My suggestion? If you can make it out to see Bucky during this summer's tour--while he's playing a few initimate venues along the way--do it. This was his first stadium show, but it definitely won't be his last!

More later today...

  1. I just noticed this morning that one of the new dates is the day before Bucky is in Belpre in Chillicothe. I am going to have to go to that one too lol It is about an hour and 45 minutes for me. Just too close not to go. This years county fairs will be fun taking Ira because the Yankee always flips out at the site of Truck pulls and farm animals lol

  3. P.S.--I guess I will be one of those...um, "semi-Yankees" (hee!) gawking at the truck pulls, but my mom and grandmother are and were farm girls--I'd love to see some farm animals up close and personal again... :)

Winnie - CMT power picks is not showing match-ups. Let's all watch tomorrow. Bucky suffered a setback by Rodney Atkins Monday and he was not on today....which means, he will most likely be on for a match-up Wednesday against someone. 12 noon EDT

  6. Kathy, I am so hoping I'll be able to go! Fingers tightly crossed...

And Anon 11:12, thanks so for the Power Picks note--I will post a reminder tomorrow morning. Guess we will have to keep an eye on it, since advance warning isn't a sure thing. (Went to check today's matchups, but the page wouldn't come up for me!)
