Edited to add links to the ACM Orange Carpet gallery at GAC, where two nice shots of Bucky are posted, and to the Bucky Truck Stop at Rawkhands, where there are some great updates you're sure to enjoy. (Thanks, Sunscreen.)

It's a quiet news day so far, but tonight brings a rockin', rowdy party--Bucky, Rocky and the band are playing at Coyote's in Louisville. The venue is part of a huge six-club complex in the downtown district, but Coyote's sounds just intimate enough to offer the possibility of an up-close experience. (And if you'd like to make it an even closer one, there's an intriguing notice posted at the O'Malley's/Coyote's concert page today: "Win VIP tickets and backstage passes to see Bucky Covington! Just text 'Bucky' to 81676." Not sure what that's all about, but if you're planning to be there anyway, it's definitely worth a try this morning...)

Tickets for tonight's show may still be available at Ticketmaster--good luck, and I hope you'll be there to cheer Bucky on from a spot right up front!

And speaking of that awesome live concert feeling; our friend Icyfire11 captured it beautifully in her great shots from Bucky's recent Nashville shows. Enjoy her Photobucket gallery full of images from the Wildhorse Saloon concert with Sawyer Brown and memories of the Tennessee Mornings taping. Thanks to Icyfire for sharing her day in Music City!

The morning charts are guaranteed to raise a smile today--Bucky's "A Different World" moved up a notch yesterday to take the #18 spot on the Top 500 listings, and holds steady on the weighted chart at #17. (It's also #19 with a bullet on the Radio & Records/BDS weekly country singles chart.) And Bucky's CD comes in at #9 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart this week, making it a solid month of Top 10 album success for Bucky Covington. Lookin' good!

We can help keep things looking good--be sure to request Bucky at your local country station, and give him a hand at the GAC Top Twenty countdown with a vote today. (Help a brother out!)

And we'll close for now with a repeat link that might have been lost in the shuffle. If you missed Bucky's funny interview at Star-Country, be sure to check it out today--it's definitely a must-read.

More very soon...enjoy your Thursday!

Edited to add: As promised, here's the huge Academy of Country Music Awards sub-site at MSN Music; tons of articles, video and photos from that star studded evening make this a fun way to spend your morning. (I'm browsing it now--stay tuned to this spot, and I'll update with direct links to Bucky's media in the section, if any.) If you missed the awards earlier this week, here's good news--the ACMs will be re-broadcast at 8 p.m. ET June 6th on GAC. Enjoy!--Winnie

Looking at all access, it seems Bucky will most likely not be in the top 10 for country albums. And will likely drop out of the top 50 all genre chart. The performers on the awards got a really nice boost which is what knocked out Bucky. If only AI would of shown Bucky during Melindas homecoming.

  2. Good morning, Anon! How's it going... :)

The Top 10 info in my post came from Billboard's chart dated 5/26--as of now, he's spent a full month in the Top Country Albums Top 10, and I feel that was some good news worth celebrating!

I really, really hate to sound like a broken record, but I honestly think a long-range, big picture view is the best way to have fun with this "being a Bucky Covington fan" thing". Both the long range and the right-now views are looking good--he's got a Top 20 single on Mediabase with a bullet, a steady-selling album with many excellent potential singles in the works for release later this year, and he's working hard on tour and making new fans everywhere he goes--new fans who are very, very likely to buy his CD after the concerts at their local retailers or online. There is much to be happy about!

I would have loved to see Bucky during Melinda's homecoming too, but even without that, he is doing so well. Word of mouth about the CD is positive, and the excellent reviews upon its release have sweetened the deal. A slow and steady build is actually better in the long run, if that 30-year career Bucky's aiming for is starting now--and he is off to a fantastic start on that goal.

(I'm going to go so far as to say that even if the CD did drop below Top 10 or off the all genre Top 50, it wouldn't stay off those charts for long--new hit single, new CD bounce. And again, there are many killer singles on the album, and Bucky's a force to be reckoned with on stage...)

Once more--and not singling you out, Anon...this is for anyone who might be feeling this way--if the charts, even with good news, get you down, don't watch the charts. Enjoy the music--which is great!--go see Bucky when he's playing near you, and have fun with all this, y'all!

Bucky's got a highly paid team of professionals whose job it is to worry about the fine details of the charts--our job is to buy and enjoy the album, keep requesting, hit Bucky's live shows and party the night away, share his excellent music and news with friends who might dig him too, and have a good time.

(I apologize for sounding a bit redundant, because I know I've shared these thoughts before--but again, I just hate to a fellow Bucky fan sad when there's happy news now and good times ahead. Take heart, Anon! The best is yet to come...)
