Hazel Smith (who is still in our prayers--here's to a continued speedy recovery for Mrs. Smith) is back with a short but extremely flattering mention of Bucky in today's Hot Dish column at CMT.com:
The Miami Herald called Bucky's self-titled debut album "the most cohesive album to come out of the [American Idol] franchise yet." Tell me, how could you say anything less about this wonderful and gritty singer from Rockingham, N.C., with the exact height and swagger of Hank Williams himself?
Bucky has sold more than 100,000 copies of his CD in just three weeks. Don't you dare try and tell me music won't sell. Country music will sell -- and does.
Wow. It doesn't get much better than that! Be sure to check out the whole article--Kellie and Bucky's many mutual fans will love Hazel's funny "when Kellie met Dolly" story. Good to see Hazel back at the keyboard, isn't it? Enjoy!
Head on over to the comments section for the previous post, where memories from Bucky's awesome Seattle show with Neal McCoy are just coming in. By all accounts, this was a winning combination! We'll be on the watch for news and photos from Bucky and Rocky's trip to the beautiful Northwest...
As of this post the morning Mediabase stats weren't yet available, but Bucky's single moved up a notch to #18 on the Mediabase weighted chart and #19 on the Top 500 last night. (It's going to be a wild week on the charts, so keep those requests coming, y'all! Your local country station would love to hear from you...)
The CMT Pure 12-Pack and GAC Top Twenty voting pages are waiting to hear from you, too, of course; Bucky's video ended the week on a high note, and the momentum is going strong!
And Hits Daily Double will be updating album sales estimates starting at approximately 7:30 a.m. Pacific, with the final estimates posted tomorrow afternoon...so hang on for another rollercoaster ride there this week.
Finally, a television reminder for nightowls--Bucky's April 19th appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live will repeat tonight (technically early Tuesday morning) at 12:05 a.m. ET. He'll sing "Empty Handed" and a bit of "Back When We Were Gods" at the end of the show; you can enjoy the complete version of the latter at the Jimmy Kimmel Live "Pontiac Garage" video vault.
More very soon--enjoy your Monday!
Hi Winnie,
ReplyDeleteThere is a long recap with photos now by
AuntieL on the Auburn show thread at Bucky's site . (I dont know how to do links, sorry!)
My shorter recap is on there, too, but no pics -
my camera just cant handle concert lighting, not sure why!
We were allowed to take photos, but just not
with the stars , as Auntie L says , unless you were a sponsor. A few people did run into Bucky outside , tho, and got pics with him!
Have a good day,
Chan
Hiya Winnie, I don't wanna bother you for this again, I have read that there are some recaps from the weekend concerts posted on BCO (the road thread) I cannot access that thread. Could you see if you can get permission and maybe post those here? Please, Thank you Winnie for all that you do for us OBCDers..

"It should behoove you to know that Bucky is now in medium current rotation (the 2nd highest available) at the station and he’s showing no signs of faltering at this stage. I think he owes you a fruit basket for your efforts on his behalf!!"
ReplyDeleteEmail I got from my local radio program director today. Requests pay off!!
I wonder how long it will take to reach heavy rotation?

And hee, Debbie--you are becoming famous! It's fun requesting--you never know who might get to know you... :)
Marzy, I just signed into Bucky's board, and I see TeeForBucky/AuntieL's recap in the General Discussion section now--is that one that you can get too? If not, let me know and I will try to be of more help. :)
ReplyDeleteChan, would it be okay if I reposted your recap here for Marzy? I see it is in the Road section--it sounds like your evening was amazing, too! Please let me know, and thanks!
Thanx Winnie, I just looked and I cannot enter that room either. Only Bucky nation & Chit Chat.
