It's "Make-a-Request" Monday (and Tuesday, and Wednesday...)

All right, y'all. I will freely admit I am a little...er, repetitious (I'll use the polite word) about radio requests; each and every morning post here has a bold print line about requesting "A Different World" at your local country station, and that's no accident. I realize how scary calling up a radio station can be, especially for us Painfully Shy Folks; and I also realize that playlists at most large, conglomerate-owned stations are very rigid, indeed.

However, things have changed a lot for us since "Everything you always wanted to know about requesting" was written. Bucky's single is a true-Carolina-blue hit now, and if the Mediabase weighted and Top 500 charts are any indication, it's getting to be a bigger hit all the time. It officially went Top 15 on the weighted chart this morning, and it's so close to Top 15 on the Top 500 chart that we can almost taste it from here. It's a safe bet that this week, some of those scary phone calls to our favorite local and/or streaming radio stations--and some of those "Top X at X" votes and syndicated radio show requests--could give "A Different World" the nudge upstairs it needs. I'm game, shyness and all--how about you? Top 10 sure sounds good...
