Tuesday news: chartgazing, a moonlight cruise, win a guitar and more...

Bucky Covington strikes a soulful note on the Grand Ole Opry stage, April 7th. Bucky's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is now available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, preview his entire CD at Clear Channel Music, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club.

We'll repeat the heads-up and the link to L.A.'s KOST --rumor has it Bucky will be interviewed on the Mark and Kim morning show.

Looks like Bucky will finally get a little time to enjoy some boating, but it's a working trip--he'll be serenading lucky WEZL listeners on a "Sunset Harbor Cruise" tonight in Charleston between 7 and 9 p.m. (Bucky performing live, moonlight on the water and some Southern BBQ--what could be better! Sounds like a perfect evening...)

Those of us stuck out of town and on dry land can enjoy an adventure of a different sort--Bucky's album has been available for a full week, and Hits Daily Double is tallying sales estimates all day today. The numbers start rolling again at about 7:30 a.m. Pacific; when the evening ended yesterday with 61% of surveyed retailers reporting, Bucky's self-titled debut was listed at #4 on the chart, with an estimated 49,557 CDs sold. It's important to keep in mind that the tallies on Hits Daily Double can change dramatically over the course of any given day--the best advice is to keep checking in, and hang on for a wild ride...

Having said all that--wow, y'all. Those numbers are looking pretty scrumptious!

While we're discussing numbers, here's a quick look at the Mediabase charts; Bucky's "A Different World" is
#23 on both the Top 500 and weighted listings this morning. We can help get it movin' on up with some well-timed requests--ask for Bucky at your local country station, and be sure to request him on your favorite syndicated country programs, too! Lia, The Big Time with Whitney Allen and Blair Garner's After Midnite, among others, have "A Different World" on their playlists now--feel free to give them a call and let them know you're enjoying hearing Bucky on their shows...

In video news, those who are lucky enough to have GAC in your cable lineup may have noticed a little more Bucky Covington content on your screen--the video for "A Different World" has been upgraded from "light" to "medium" rotation there! We can keep that momentum going with our votes--give Bucky a boost at at CMT's Pure Country Pure 12-Pack video countdown and at GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown today.

We'll wrap things up for now with some fun odds and ends. Bucky's show in Harrisburg was part of a multi artist "Bob Birthday Bash", and the station's got a photo gallery of the event here. (The flipside news--it's a linear format gallery, and it's 116 photos long. Bucky's photos start at about #87 or so, in case you're interested.) And Bucky was also part of a "blink and you'll miss it" CMT Music Awards fashion roundup on last week's CMT Insider; the episode has had its last rerun, but Sunscreen has the scoop for you over at the Bucky Truck Stop at Rawkhands...

Finally, a reminder about that "Win an Autographed Guitar from Bucky" contest at CountryTune.com--it's still going on! Bucky is the featured artist for April at CountryTune, and to celebrate, the site is giving away a guitar signed by Bucky. Enter here (one entry per person) and good luck...hope you'll have a great country collectible to strum very soon.

More later today...see you then!

  3. Yep, got to hear this one...Florida? Well, hey, it's in the South--they were in the general vicinity. :) Fun interview, and it was nice to hear "A Different World" played on a soft rock station.

I think the DJs really enjoyed the CD and Bucky!

Did anyone hear the after interview remarks from emails and such. apparently some were not nice and they got read on air. Geez give the guy a break. Does anyone know exactly what was said?

I heard them...the emails were a non-issue...they just made two unoriginal lame hillbilly jokes and the DJ 100 percent defended Bucky. Which just give him another chance to say Bucky and his album were both great. :)
