Mid-week mildness...

Bucky Covington shares a smile in this photo taken on the set of the video for "A Different World"; you'll find more photos and an interview with Bucky in the April 9th issue of Country Weekly, on newsstands now. Bucky's new music video is now available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can pre-order Bucky's debut CD at Amazon, Best Buy and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be pre-ordered at his official site or via his official fan club.

It's a bit on the quiet side lately, but the house'll be rockin' again tomorrow; Bucky's promo tour continues with a stop at Shawn's Irish Tavern in Toledo, Ohio. Listen to K100 for details on how to get your ticket, and have a great time! (Alas, there is no stream, but there is a photo gallery which will more than likely be updated later this week with some shots from Bucky's performance--right now, you'll find a blast-from-the-past set of GAC Christmas concert photos you might have missed...)

This afternoon, Bucky did an interview and contest-winners-only autograph signing and acoustic show at (non-streaming, sadly) WQMX in Akron, and the studio version of "It's Good to Be Us" got a much-anticipated spin. I'll break from my usual semi-calm blogger-speak for a moment to say--wow. Wow. If this bright, toe-tapping song doesn't have "summertime hit" written all over it, I'll eat my straw cowgirl hat...

(Have I mentioned that I'm really, really excited about the fact that there's a Bucky Covington CD coming out on April 17th? All righty, then...)

Ahem. It's safe to bet that Bucky's upcoming album is blessed with an abundance of potential chart-climbers--and the first single, "A Different World" is catching fire on video and radio this week, with those great "Top X at X" shows leading the pack. If your local country station has a "Top" show or something similar, this is the ideal time to request Bucky for your countdown--chances are excellent that you'll have plenty of company on the request lines, with all the recent (and future) press Bucky's been getting lately. (Not sure if there's a countdown show happening near you? Hit Radio-Locator to find your hometown country stations, check their websites for "On the Air" schedules and voting pages...then listen, call up, request, and enjoy!)

And speaking of recent press, the Good Morning America link in the early post did indeed bear fruit--here's Wednesday's Idol segment, featuring Bucky at about 2:06 to 2:09. Don't blink!

Last but not least, here are those convenient voting links: give "A Different World" a helping hand on GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown, and feel free to request Bucky via email to country@wkml.com for the WKML "Top 5 at 6", then listen to the stream at 6 p.m. ET to see where he lands on the countdown.

Edited to add: A very kind and tech savvy friend just sent word that Bucky will be the in-studio guest on GAC's Top Twenty Video Countdown on Friday, April 6th (repeats Saturday, 4/7). It isn't on GAC's site yet, but her Windows Media Center setup tipped her off! Stay tuned for more details, and get those DVRs warmed up...

More very soon!

  4. Hi Chan! I think it's a fantastic song too, and you're right--his voice really conveys the happiness in the lyrics. It would be a beautiful summer single...

I really hope you get to say hello to Bucky when he's in your area--it'll be fun for both of you! :)

Hey Winnie and everyone. Sorry I've been so absent lately, but I have been sneaking on to read the blog! (LOL)

I haven't been fortunate enough to hear It's Good to be Us Yet... but I'm hoping for an faster/upbeat song this summer. Can't wait for Bucky to be the theme song for everyone's 2007 summer memories.

  7. Hi, Honey and Pizzi! Honey, we've all missed you--good to see you again. You and I are in the same boat about a breezy, sweet summertime tune--so glad there's one on the CD. You are going to love it. :)

And Pizzi, "I'm Good" is definitely making an impression--after Regis and Kelly, a lot of people searched for it on Google and ended up here. It really is a safe bet that many of the songs from Bucky's album will become favorites down the road...
