More from Music Row

Bucky Covington is mentioned in an eye-opening article in this morning's Tennessean; Ryan Underwood looks at the expensive and sometimes delicate process of breaking a new artist to country radio today. Everything from initial CD and video costs, to radio promo tours like the one Bucky's been on for a few weeks now, to the benefits of TV exposure and the Spitzer payola probe is mentioned. Definitely a must-read!

And while we're talking radio--"A Different World" is #33 on the Mediabase Top 500, and #34 on the weighted chart as of the morning rankings. From the looks of the fairly busy Yes.com page this week, it's safe to hope that the coveted Top 30 is just around the corner, y'all...

More later today!

The article about launching new artists is very interesting. I am always curious about the millions of things that go on behind the scenes in the music business. Thanks!

  2. Thank you for stopping in!

It really is fascinating, isn't it? Who knew it took so much money--and time--to break a current country artist. Kudos to the newspaper for an excellent inside view.
