KKBQ this morning, and some good news for next week

One of the KKBQ Morning Zoo crew answered a letter yesterday from a fan at the Fox boards about Bucky's recent interview--it was apparently taped and will be broadcast this morning, 2/9. (The Zoo is on from 5 to 10 a.m Central.) In case you're reading this a bit after the fact, check out their extensive podcast section; there's a good chance it will eventually be archived there. Enjoy!

And yes, it's a few days early, but here's a heads-up for all you lucky Bucky Covington fans in Chicago and Minneapolis --looks like Bucky's "contest winners only" stops in your towns might be open to the public after all. Here's the blurb from Chicago's WUSN site (also listed on the venue's site):

Meet American Idol Star Bucky Covington!
Come out and meet American Idol Star Bucky Covington along with Trish Biondo and the US*99.5 Rewards Team on Tuesday, February 13th from 7-9p.m. at 115 Bourbon Street located at 3359 W. 115 St. in Merrionette Park, IL. We will be watching American Idol and signing people up to win great US*99.5 prizes!

Bucky's Valentine's Day appearance in Minneapolis is listed on the K102 concert page as a free show, with no mention of a contest. It begins at 7:00 p.m. at Major's in Bloomington.

Our advice? If you're planning to travel, call up the station and/or the venue to make absolutely sure it's open to the public--then go. The happy crowd at the Armadillo Palace this past Wednesday had a fantastic time by all accounts; goodness knows we Bucky Covington fans can and will turn out for a party, given enough advance word. (And a good turnout creates a nice bit of buzz for a new artist--not that I think there's any need to twist your arm to go see Bucky...for free...in a casual, informal, fun, intimate setting...)

No word on the 2/20 Cincinnati and 2/21 Indianapolis tour stops--those may truly be for contest winners only. We'll keep an eye out for info on those two dates; in the meantime, Chicago and Minneapolis fans could be in for a fantastic evening in their respective towns!

More soon...

The Morning Zoo---so cute how Bucky has a "story" for most any topic. :)

Okay back to bed. These early morning interviews are cutting into my beauty sleep. :O

Oh those tricky Texas DJs ....it was the same segment from hours ago replayed but they promoed it like it was all live...."Bucky Covington is going to be walking in here any minute"...etc. ha ha

Oh well...cute segment. Shooter Jennings, who Bucky loves, sought him out and said he was a big fan of Bucky's. :) (Bucky was with Chris and Shooter had no clue who the heck is Chris Daughtry. haha)

  5. Good morning, Misfit and Anon! I missed the whole interview today, so thanks for the highlights. It'd be fun to be a butterfly on the wall for the Shooter and Bucky conversation...too much hipness for one room, there.

Misfit, I wish there'd more info on the Ohio shows! That was all I could find--maybe this weekend some details will surface. I will keep looking. Hope it is free and open to the public and that you can be there. (I live clear on the other side of the state, so I'd be with you in spirit only...and if you do go, please come back and tell us all about it. :)

Are there any downloads available of these radio interviews?

  7. Hi, Anon! Some of the stations do provide audio after the fact for download; the Bucky Covington Fans MySpace is usually right on top of what's available.

I've tried to note available downloads/podcasts on the individual posts about different radio interviews; if Bucky would slow down for a moment so I could catch up on older news (he's been a busy dude this week!), I'll attempt to put together a quick list of what's out there and post it this weekend...

I would love to get a hold of that Texas interview . . . Holy crap, I'm fangirling overtime after hearing that Shooter info. I sent Bucky a Shooter CD right after his boot because I thought he'd like it - had no idea he was a fan and vice versa. Squeeeee! <3

  11. Me three on Shooter, y'all. :)

I hope they archive that interview at KKBQ--so many of us missed it! If I hear anything about it turning up there (or elsewhere) I will cheerfully pas it along.

    Anon, thanks for that link!

Me four on the Shooter love! I'm agog over the idea of Shooter and Bucky hanging out. And snickering about the Daughtry tidbit. Very cool that one of you sent Bucky a Shooter CD. I would literally die if those 2 performed together sometime. ;p
