First look at Monday: "Ain't No Thang", y'all...

Bucky Covington in a screencap from his new music video, now available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can pre-order Bucky's debut CD at Amazon, Best Buy and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT, or enjoy samples of four songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace.

It's Monday, and there's a new installment of "The Bucky Diaries" at USA Today's "Idol Chatter" blog right now. Bucky writes about a very kind gesture by Pat Green of "Wave on Wave" and "Dixie Lullaby" fame, mentions yet another song from his upcoming CD (a "pretty turned up" track called "Ain't No Thang"), and lots more. The blog has a comments section--head over there right away to leave a message for Bucky and tell him you're enjoying the diaries!

The upcoming Country Radio Seminar in Nashville was, of course, one of the topics in his post. Bucky will be singing at an invitation-only breakfast seminar on Wednesday, and he'll be on hand for several CRS events throughout the week, including a 3/1 showcase at the Wildhorse Saloon with Emerson Drive and many more emerging country acts. Tickets for the show are now available via Ticketmaster; if you go, be sure to come back and tell us all about it, and about "Ain't No Thang", too...

Bucky and Rocky also got a short but fun mention in Hazel Smith's Hot Dish column this morning--enjoy!

Looking for Bucky on television? The final rerun of the 2/24 installment of CMT Insider happens today at 1:30 p.m. ET--then head back to CMT at 3 p.m. ET for Power Picks, where Bucky's "A Different World" will be one of the contenders in a head to head video challenge. (Vote for Bucky, y'all! You can find all the details on how to go about it at the show's site.) GAC will be airing Bucky's video at about 9:28 ET this morning, and at 5:24 p.m. or so on Tuesday.

Finally, a new week means a new WKML "Top 5 at 6", so remember to request "A Different World" at country@wkml.com. And after all the great Top-40 syndicated countdown buzz this weekend, your local country station might be even more likely than ever to fulfill your request for Bucky, too. Be sure to give them a call today...

(Edited to correct the song title...it ain't no thang, and I guess I ain't no hipster!--More soon--Winnie)

Don't mean to be nitpicky, but the song title in the diaries is "Aint no THANG" and we all know there is a big diffence between "thing" and "thang" ;)

Bucky gives great interview. He really has a gift for telling funny anecdotes, being charming and humble, giving credit where credit is due and plugging what needs to be plugged without sounding like a shill.

  7. Not nitpicky at all, Carol! I'll change it right now. I am so not down with the hipster lingo...but my mom is originally from AL, so I get a half-price discount on the "y'alls"! I'm learning, Kathy! :)
