First things first--please be sure to drop a quick email to country@ wkml.com to request "A Different World" for tonight's WKML "Top 5 at 6". (It'd be fun to see Bucky end the week at Number One!)
The Miami Herald's Idol blogger might be with us in spirit as we request Bucky's new single--he had some emphatically positive things to say about the song in an entry from yesterday. "Now this is true country," he says. " Bucky, on this song, sounds authentic, has charisma and character. If the entire album is as good he stands a chance of having the best post Idol album to date. This one song is up there with the best singles so far from Kelly Clarkson (Since U Been Gone) and Daughtry (It's Not Over)."
Just for the record, I disagree with the Herald's blogger when it comes to Bucky's fellow country Idols--I enjoyed Kellie, Josh and Carrie's CDs--but he and I are certainly on the same wavelength when it comes to Bucky...
(We're guessing the entire album will be very good indeed; here's a link to Amazon's pre-order page for all who'd like to be among the first to find out for themselves.)
The remodeling of Bucky's section at CMT continues--the already-busy, brand new message board is now topped with a high-res version of one of those great images from the album cover photo shoot, and the photo gallery contains four photos--three current portraits and a nice Sound and Speed shot. You can still listen to a version of "A Different World" on Bucky's CMT profile page, and be sure to sign up for news updates, too. Happy browsing!
And finally, a fun bit of news from Chicago's big US 99.5--Bucky's single, unbeknownst to us, was featured in a song showdown Thursday evening against the current song by a veteran superstar hitmaker...and we're told it won. Lookin' good...
More very soon!
