Quick update, 1/29

Well, that was quick! By request, here it is, right back up top--a brand new Bucky Covington promo photo, from the CD cover photo shoot. Click the image to visit Bucky's official MySpace.

A little chart news to start off the week--Bucky's "A Different World" has moved up a notch again today to #44 on Mediabase's a.m. Top 500. (If you're into the numbers, here are a few from AllAccess.com: Bucky's single gained 102 new spins in the past seven days, on 70 stations.) New cities this week include Tampa, Charlotte, Lansing and a huge (and very important) station in Minneapolis. The full list for today is here; and if one of those stations happens to be your favorite, let them know you'd like to hear Bucky Covington a bit more often!

(While we're on the topic of requests, be sure to zap a note to country@wkml.com and request "A Different World" for tonight's "Top 5 at 6" on WKML. Bucky ended the week with a big win--it'd be fun to start this week at the top.)

In other radio news, the tour schedule at Bucky's official site lists an appearance and an acoustic performance today for some very lucky winners at WSIX in Nashville. (If you're going, please drop us a note and tell us all about it...) The promo tour for "A Different World" will take him all over the country, in person and by radio, so be sure to check often for updates and info on when Bucky will be near you.

The full Black and White Ball report was posted at Robin Leach's Luxe Life blog today--there are many new photos from the night, but while Bucky was there, he apparently eluded the photographers. Here's hoping there are some photos out there, somewhere...

Finally, if you're trying to catch up on all the fun stuff you might have missed this week, the BuckyCovingtonFans My Space has been freshly updated with links to...well, just about everything. Check there often for the latest!

More soon...enjoy your Monday!

I am trying to understand this radio madness....okay I live in a major city with 2 country stations....I just googled and found out that one is clear channel and one is not.....so if I understand properly, it would make more sense to request on the non-clear channel one. Is that right? Thanks for all the information. I never even thought at all about all this radio business stuff until Bucky. :)

On the front you say "The full list for today is here"...so those are the ones that added him today? What about the other ones? It only shows 10 stations so I know there are more than 10 so was wondering if there is somewhere that has the full list? Thank you!

  6. Hello to Anon 8:02, and thanks for the good news about Chicago! That is very cool--nice to see big cities on the list.:)

Anon 10:55, hey there! The best move would probably be to request at both--the Clear Channel station will probably have a stricter playlist, though, so you might actually hear Bucky on the other station first. But if you're lucky enough to have two good country stations near you, the more the merrier!

Howdy, Anon 11:29! I am not at all an expert on Mediabase and would invite those experienced in following these charts to provide info and corrections, but here's what I can gather so far:

Mediabase only gives so much info away for free (you have to buy a subscription to get all the details), but what we have access to now are the Starter and Leader lists. The Starters are the stations who just started playing the song this week; the Leaders are the ones who played it most. Right now adding the two lists and subtracting any overlap will give us most of the stations playing Bucky at the moment. (On Mediabase, that means at least two spins in a week.)

As the song moves up the charts, those lists will become more partial--again, Mediabase only gives lurkers a peek at the stats. But it's a good way to get the general picture.

I have been listening to WSIX for the last few hours just on the off chance they would mention the contest event...alas, they have not yet and I have to click it off soon....but they did promo a bunch the Grand Ole Opry concerts coming up....so it might be fun to remember to tune in to this station closer to Bucky's debut at the Opry just to hear the promo. :D

In that photo Bucky looks like he has a fun little secret surprise on his mind that he not quite ready to spring on us. :)

  9. Anon 12:49, that sounds like fun! I hope the Opry promo featuring Bucky can be preserved for posterity. Definitely something to look forward to!

    And Anon 3:15...that is a rather mysterious-looking smile, isn't it? :)
