Bucky Covington in Murray, Ky; photo by Dixiegirl7. (Happy birthday, Dixiegirl and Buckyflowers!)
There's much to celebrate on this quiet Saturday morning...
The four new song clips that were posted at Bucky's official MySpace yesterday evening have caused a positive buzz today! Enjoy the snippets of four tracks from Bucky's upcoming album (and add one to your profile, if you're a MySpace user), then pop in at the Fox boards, at TWoP and in our previous comments section and talk about the new tunes among friends...
Tonight's the night in Wilmington! Rocky Covington's farewell party/concert with Swamp Cat gets underway at 9:00 or so; if you're in the vicinity you'll definitely want to be there. The news page on Rocky's site has all the details and ticket info. Hoping to run into some familiar faces? Check out this thread--lots and lots of Covington fans from the official boards will be celebrating with Rocky tonight.
And for those closer to Bucky's (and soon, Rocky's) new home base in Nashville, there's a fun time in progress now at the Sound and Speed event at the Gaylord Entertainment Center, where Bucky is signing autographs at the Backstage Garage Pass Autograph Session. Stop in and say hi to Bucky, and enjoy a day of country music and NASCAR memories.
And a bit of radio news, via satellite--it's Saturday, and that means "Beyond the Buzz" at Sirius New Country tonight at 9 p.m. ET...
Edited to add some great news from comments--looks like "A Different World" graduated to full Buzz Cut status this morning! Here's a screenshot from It's On Sirius--check out the song played at 9:41:
Thanks to everyone in comments for the update, and congratulations, Bucky! (I have a feeling I'll be typing those last two words very often in the weeks to come...)
XM's Highway 16 has apparently put Bucky's single in the regular new-music mix, as well; it's been played about twice a day for the past few days now, according to the unofficial XM Fan playlist. (Both services offer free trial options for online listening--a great way to see what each has to offer.)
And to wrap things up for now, Bucky's moved up again on the Mediabase airplay charts; "A Different World" is now at 63, with three stations in Salt Lake City and a new one in York among those listed. Look for a lot more excitement as Bucky's debut single is officially released on Tuesday. (Thanks, Marzy!)
(We're on the slowest of dialup connections this morning, but I'll have an expanded post for you as soon as we can get our DSL up and running. Stay tuned, and have a beautiful day!--Winnie)
Are we sure he even will be on Beyond the Buzz this week? Was he promoed like other two weeks?

Does this mean he has become a buzz cut? I am just now popping online and getting ready to turn on Sirius. oh I hope so. Seems quick???
ReplyDeleteI do not know for sure Kathy but I thought it was EITHER play during regular time OR Beyond the Buzz time, never both....so thought that he was played this morning as a "buzz cut" means he will no longer be on Beyond the Buzz.
ReplyDeleteCool! Thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteI just e-mailed the Beyond the Buzz DJ lady and asked her how it worked. I will let you know if I get a response. :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome! This is so exciting!
ReplyDeleteThe are playing Bucky as a buzz cut right NOW on sirius! :)
ReplyDeleteWow...so fun to hear Bucky on the radio just like at random now. :D
ReplyDeleteHe is a buzz cut!! 3:22 EST
ReplyDeleteSo that is two spins on sirius already and the day is young. :D
ReplyDeleteOh this is so exciting!!! I love just hearing him at random too.
ReplyDeleteBuckymania what a great day for fans to have both Bucky and Rocky singing today.
ReplyDeleteI do not know or care about Rocky performing or not today....but I do not think Bucky is singing today unless you mean on the radio. :) I think the speed and sound event is a fun one and so great Bucky was asked to participate but I do not think he will be performing at it. But I am sure the Q&A session and the autograph session they have set for Bucky at the event will be fabulous!!! :D
ReplyDeleteATM, I think there's going to be a lot of live music in our future from this point on---I hope you get a chance to enjoy some live performances out there in Texas this spring and summer! :) And Anon, bet Bucky had a great time at Sound and Speed today--he is a NASCAR fan too, so this must be a fun Saturday, on duty and off.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, you Sirius subscribing peeps--how cool to hear Bucky as part of the regular playlist!
Okay we made an incorrect assumption...apparently one can be on the Beyond the Buzz and regular play as a buzz...I know this for a fact since Bucky is now being played on Beyond the Buzz show right now! Call-in if you can!
ReplyDeleteOur assumption was faulty...Bucky was just played on tonight's Beyond the Buzz.
