(Post updated 4:37 p.m. EST--wanted to keep that song clip right up top! Bucky Covington photo by the very kind Blu.--W)
WKRN-TV's Brad Schmitt graciously included a nice long clip of Bucky's new single, "Different World", in his Bradon2.com blog post about Bucky's signing to Lyric Street Records. (Yes, he also included that ancient promo photo from Fox, but hey--the Nashville news giveth and the Nashville news taketh away...) It's a clear one-minute sample that'll give you a good idea of what the song's like--happy listening!
Just a reminder that WKML-FM in Fayetteville is still taking your requests for tonight's Top 5 at 6; you can ask for Bucky's "Different World" via email at Larry@wkml.com, or call 910 323 9570. This station does offer online streaming--so if you can listen online from wherever you are, you can request! Bucky's been Number One on the Top 5 at 6 countdown there since his single debuted two days ago--will he be on top again tonight? You've got a say in that one...request now, and listen in at 6 p.m. Eastern. (And if you're so inclined, listen in during the day too--several fans have reported hearing the song in the mornings and afternoons, and it sounds as though it's become part of the regular playlist there. Congratulations, Bucky!)
(Edited to add a note from vgill about requesting at WKML: "When I was listening to WKML today, I heard several of the DJs say that you can send your requests to country@wkml.com. Larry is the DJ that does the top 5@6, but there are several others, they have a request hour from 12-1pm as well. All the DJs apparently have access to the country@wkml.com addy." Thanks for the info, vgill--that's good to know.)
And huge thanks to the kind lady who passed on these links; Bucky's single has already been played enough for Mediabase to start tracking it. He's there at number 123, with spins so far in Fayetteville NC, Augusta GA and Burlington, VT. Keep requesting, y'all!
The happy news of Bucky's signing with Lyric Street Records is spreading fast and far--it's been posted at MTV News (warning--very annoying flash navigation), discussed on radio in Atlanta this morning, and even published as far away as South Africa. Looks like the fun is just beginning...stay tuned.
More soon!
This great! Thanks for all the work yo do tracking Bucky's success. Keepin' us all busy now, for sure!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your kind words--it's my pleasure!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know what is the Jump chart on Mediabase? What does it mean?
ReplyDeleteHi! I am no expert, but here's a little info I found online:
ReplyDelete_______________________________
The Jump Chart measures how many spins a song increased over the amount of spins they had the week before. Example: If a song received 50 spins the first week and 100 spins the 2nd week it would have a Jump or bullet of 50 spins. It is very important for a song to continue to increase its spins week after week.

It's good to know that Bucky's already getting some airplay this week! I'll try to get some more Mediabase info as soon as I can.
Winnie
Thanks for the info.! :D
