Looking for some brand new Bucky Covington music on your radio tonight? A Sirius New Country-listening friend of mine sent word that on Friday night, the DJ on Channel 60 name-checked Bucky during a promo of their Saturday night new music show, "Beyond the Buzz". At this point, it's an extremely good bet that "Different World" is likely to grace your speakers this evening between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. Eastern. (Thanks to Sunscreen for the sweet heads-up.)
If you'd like to test-drive that nice free three day pass at Sirius, you're in luck--hop over there now. After filling out a short form (no credit card or deeply personal info required, just your name, zip code and email address), you too can enjoy the somewhat addictive pleasures of Sirius Satellite Radio online, as well as the definitely addictive pleasure of "Different World".
And after you've heard Bucky's new single, please consider letting the folks at Sirius New Country know how much you loved it! There's a "Send Us EMail" link on the channel's home page; positive feedback from new (and potential) subscribers is a huge help. Sign up, tune in, and help take Bucky "Beyond the Buzz" and into the regular New Country rotation on Sirius.
In other news, a version of that recent US Weekly update on former Idol finalists was posted at Reality TV World this morning; it's a fun way to catch up with all your favorites from past seasons. Mr. and Mrs. Covington as new Nashville residents and Bucky's upcoming album are duly noted. (It'll be fun to read what US has to say about his album when it's hitting the shops and the charts...)
Edited to add: The sixth-season hype machine is already running like clockwork, but this Reno Gazette-Journal article on the ups and downs of Season Five is nicely done. Here's a bit from Bucky about The Hairdo:
Last season, Bucky Covington once showed up with a curly perm; judge Simon Cowell said he looked like Jessica Simpson.Covington agrees and says it was his fault for letting the hair stylists have their way.
"I'm from North Carolina and I hadn't been out there before; I'm not telling them what to do," he said.
After that week, Covington said, he simply didn't go into the styling room.
"I thought, 'If that's the way you do it, I'll just stay out of there.' "
(Going by everyone's great post-Idol concert shots of Bucky, it's safe to say that was an excellent decision. Sometimes Mother Nature is the best stylist of them all...)
More soon--enjoy your Saturday, everyone!
Duh...they did not give him a "curly perm" on Jessica Simpson night...the opposite...they tried to straighten and mold those natural curls of Bucky that night. Geez!
ReplyDeleteSo much for "accuracy in the news"! :) The reporter is a guy, probably one with a buzz cut...bet he doesn't know the difference between a curling iron and a flatiron...
ReplyDeleteThanks, anon--unfortuately, I had to (very reluctantly!) delete that last very helpful tip...just playin' it safe since TPTB lurk here quite a bit. :( Sorry 'bout that--if I get an ok to post the tip, though, I sure will--want everyone to be able to enjoy Bucky tonight!
