It's a quiet night so far--except in Toledo, where the GAC Christmas show is likely winding down right now, leaving lots of very happy concertgoers cheering. So while we've got a moment to catch our collective breath, why not take a quick look back and thank Santa for a splendid winter? In the space of a couple of weeks, we've had one of the biggest items on our wish list--a great-looking official site--delivered in a lovely way (with a heads-up from Bucky himself, even), and a surprise gift of a Christmas tour, too. (Not to mention that GAC Christmas at the Tennesee special we have to look forward to, beginning on December 16th and for a few days afterward in re-runs...)
Of course, the biggest mystery gift remains unopened. When will we know about Bucky's label, and how soon will we have that devoutly wished-for Bucky Covington debut CD in our hands?
Bucky's thrown a few hints out there lately--the Canton Repository article from a few days ago quoted him as saying he hopes to be signed "by the end of the week", and a recent Lansing State Journal story contains a line about Bucky "wrapping up his deal." Between the sweet buzz this tour is generating among concertgoers who've shared their impressions of Bucky, and the very nice exposure that a televised Christmas concert will give him among a country-specific viewing audience, it's a good bet that things--like the eventual CD--are moving a little faster than we thought. Santa might have news of a very fine gift for us soon. Stay tuned and enjoy the season!
(And a semi-off-topic note to a beloved, snarky friend of mine--that rose-accented shirt Bucky's wearing in the bio photo at his official site? Sometimes a longer shot gives you a whole new perspective on the fashion thing...)
More later!
Funny! Love the shirt...on the site my hubby was like what is he wearing?? But it's all clear now lol
ReplyDeleteHee! Cropping can definitely change the story somewhat, can't it? :)
