Wow...what a difference a week makes!
Last Monday, we were suffering under what turned out to be end of a long, long news lull and dealing with confusion over Bucky's Nashville recording plans. Today, we're looking back at a week that included a fantastic TV interview (including lots of studio footage that gave the CD-obsessed among us much to cheer); not one but two surprise concert appearances with Saywer Brown (a bit short notice for most of us to make it, alas, but those who were able to be there had plenty of excitement to share); advance notice of a brilliant WGHP Bucky-in-Nashville segment airing on Thursday (thanks again, Mr. Pittman); and an upcoming Mrs. Jones interview with numerous reasons to cheer right there on the overview page. (An official website? A revamped MySpace? A possible January single? A label announcement "shortly"? Bring it all on...)
It's good to be a Bucky Covington fan, right about now.
It's true that there was also a bit of a kerfuffle on the Fox boards this weekend, too--chalk that up to growing pains. As Bucky's career blossoms, there will no doubt be a few "alternative viewpoints" here and there. Bucky's fans--and Bucky himself, for that matter--generally respond to would-be kerfufflers with a quietly powerful mix of good humor and undeniable strength. (Bet those elements will be also be evident in the mood of Bucky's upcoming CD...have I mentioned that I'm pretty excited about Bucky's upcoming CD? Just checking...)
There's also much fun at Rocky's official site today--the photo contest entries are posted, and they're great. Kudos to Rocky's talented fans! Voting begins now, and lasts through 11/20. You can read the voting rules on the contest page at the site. Enjoy! (And if you'll be in Rockingham, be sure to catch Rocky with Swamp Cat at the Carolina Grill on 11/17.)
Finally, a reminder that the CMA Awards air tonight, 11/6, on ABC; Bucky's friend Kellie Pickler will be gracing the red carpet (on CMT, beginning at 6 p.m. Eastern, also available as a live stream at CMT.com) and presenting. We'd suggest having the TiVo/VCR handy... (Via MJ's Big Blog, with thanks.)
Back later today with more news--and at the rate things are going lately, there should be quite a bit. Have a good Monday!
