This stunning graphic by Lisa/letusjudge is the eighth entry in the "Bucky Covington CD Cover Un-Contest". Lisa uses two beautful concert photos by lfesvr and a clever combination of script and serif fonts--including a graceful script initial--to create a dream-like image of a perfomer lost in his music. You can enjoy lots more of Lisa's lovely graphics at her newly-revamped Bucky Covington fan site Buck Wild--a must-see. (And there's more art from this talented lady coming to the blog later this evening, so be sure to stop in again.) Thanks, Lisa!
(Blogger's acting up a little this morning--if the page looks odd, reload and try again, and I'll keep working on sorting it out. Thanks--W)
The lull continues, as do the plans for fans headed to the big bash at Hugo's on October 13th--and a bit of the mystery around the thread deletions at the official boards has been cleared. (A moderator there suggested that all the recent news be condensed into one "Bucky's Appearances" thread--looks like this is the first step in the eventual consolidation of all the folders to make room for the Season 6 boards. Will Bucky's official site--with a possible board--be ready before the new season begins? Stay tuned...)
Bucky's appearance at the Erin's Victory Dance benefit has made the front page of MJ's Big Blog, and there's more Idol Rat Pack-related charity news there, too--Taylor Hicks and his Soul Patrol are sponsoring a drive to benefit Kid One Transport as a way to celebrate Taylor's 30th birthday. From the site: "Kid One provides transportation to children and expectant mothers, with limited or no transportation, to needed medical care." And of course, Bucky and Rocky's fans and friends are making donations to the Victory Junction Gang to mark their birthday. Lisa/letusjudge created this brand-new graphic to promote the drive--click it to find out more about this organization's camps for chronically and seriously ill children.
Finally, also via MJ's, congratulations to Bucky's friend Kellie Picker, who'll not only be performing at the Grand Ole Opry October 27 on a bill with with Glen Campbell, among others, but will also sing the National Anthem at the NASCAR Nextel Cup at Lowe's Motor Speedway on October 14th. We already know Bucky will be in the area, and we know he's a big NASCAR fan--will he turn up at the race to cheer his buddy on? Might be worth a look--it'll air on NBC at 7 p.m. that night.
(Just in case you missed it--most people did--here's a little bit of NASCAR/Bucky eye candy from back in April, via a beautiful blog of Mike Kenseth racing photos. Be sure to click the image to view it full size...)
More later!

Good work on your CD cover Lisa/letusjudge!
ReplyDeleteCould you post the original photo that was used for the right side photo of Bucky? I would love to see it. Thanks!
