Just popping in...
We've got three simple and striking "Simple Man" graphics from one talented artist for the fifth entry in our "Bucky Covington CD Cover Un-Contest"--the_mumbler uses a wonderfully sensitive photo of Bucky with an antique acoustic guitar to dramatic effect. The second features Bucky peering from underneath that great black hat, with the colors from the photo reflected in the text. And the last is made with a rockstarry , soft -focus concert photo. (Photo credit goes to the_mumbler's father--nice shot.) Many thanks to the_mumbler for sharing these!
Oh, it's still quiet, y'all--aside from that still-quite-live (at this posting) Country Weekly poll (vote for Bucky--again!) , the lull continues. But there is promising news on that WLWL 770 interview's eventual availability; latest word from the Fox boards is that the staff there are "cleaning up" the audio, and that there may be a rebroadcast in the works. (The station's site is currently being retooled, but there's a chance it may be posted there when the 77 Big Wave site is live again.) Hats off to the fans there for letting the station know that there are lots of us who'd love to hear from the hometown guys...
(And if you'd like even more information on the Covington Brothers and Caddy Wampus, there's a thriving Yahoo group that's been operating since August--be sure to stop in and say hello!)
Kathy at Team Covington has a new post with many more details about Erin's Victory Dance, the Victory Junction Gang Camp benefit that Bucky will participate in on October 14. A kind Highroller popped into Bucky's folder at the Fox boards today to let us know that Ace Young's Highrollers with Heart charity is auctioning a set of 10 autographed photos--all of the finalists signed their official portraits to benefit the Family Amenties Area of the Children's Hospital in Denver. And of course, a portion of the ticket sales for Elliott Yamin's first solo show at the Virginia State Fair will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Great guys, great causes!
Finally, I have a hard time posting at the American Idol boards without my extremely old computer crashing to a dead halt...not sure why. But this thread needs a little Covington content--some of his new fans who only hit the concert board might like to know he'll be a "star attraction" at the Victory Dance benefit. Anyone?
More later!
