A big thank you to Shelly for a tip she posted in the Chatbox--if you haven't been to Buck Wild lately, be sure to stop in soon. The site has been completely revamped and updated, with lots of fresh and fun media, graphics, and links. Don't forget to scroll down and hit those links at the bottom of the page, too--you'll be glad you did. (Bucky's got some very creative fans!)
Another very creative fan at the Fox boards is keeping a handy post-Idol tour timeline--so far, it goes from September 15th, when the news that Mark Miller would be producing Bucky's upcoming CD hit the wires, to Bucky's current vacation time in Rockingham, where a local fan waved hello to him today at a stoplight. (Hey, it's news! At least we know Bucky's enjoying the local scenery...)
Over at the Concert boards, they're already in an intense "those were the days" mood, with many threads heading down the byways of Memory Lane. And let's face it, this year will be tough to top! (Off topic: if you're a Highrolling/MightyTuck/Buccaneer--hope I got that right!--with an eye for future events, a poster there says that Lisa, Ace and Kim Caldwell will be performing at a show in Anaheim early next month. A kind commenter just added a link and some info--it's part of the city's 150th Anniversary celebration. Click here for details on the October 5th free concert.)
So, while we're waiting for the lull to be broken by some Very Good News, why not have a little fun? Bucky's debut CD is coming--that much we know for sure--but what we don't know is what that highly anticipated album is going to look like on our CD shelves. What would you like to see on the cover of Bucky's first CD? Now's your chance to share it with us all...
Announcing the first Buckymania "Create a Bucky Covington CD Cover" Graphics Un-Contest.
This isn't a competition at all--no prizes, no Simon Cowell critiques--it's just a fun way to share your vision of what Bucky's CD might look like. I'll post any and all submissions on the blog and credit you (with a link to your site, if you have one) in the coming weeks, up until the wonderful day when we get to see the real cover art for Bucky's actual CD. (After that, we'll all be too busy happy-dancing to operate PaintShopPro or Photoshop with any degree of safety whatsoever...)
Here are a few basic guidelines:
- Please make your image square (naturally), and
no bigger than 300x300 pixels(Edited since lots of different sizes have come in--as long as it's no wider than 410 pixels or so, it shouldn't break the blog's margins), in jpg. format. - Bucky must appear solo in the photo, drawing or graphic (i.e. no pictures of Bucky with family, fans, friends, other Idols, photoshopped with you on a Harley in the sunset, etc.)
- If you're using a photo taken by another fan, please ask permission and credit the photographer, so that he or she can be thanked on the blog.
- If you're using a photo from the Idol, Fox or RCA publicity archives, no worries about credit (we'll all know where those came from!)
- I feel silly even saying this, but just for the record--obviously no nudity, obscenity, slurs, or the like.
News--I hope--next post. See you then...
Not a Mighty Tuck or a high roller...or whatever Kim fans are called....but I did come upon this site the other day when googling about....

Thanks so much for the info! I'll update the post. Appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of the non-contest contest for the CD cover. :D The first big important question is ;) cowboy hat or no cowboy hat on the cover???? I have read enough of Buckymania's homages to the hat to know her sentiments....but see as much as I think Bucky really works a cowboy hat...I do get a little drooly over those thick wavy golden locks of his flying free too. Hmm...such decisions....hmmmm. ;)
ReplyDeleteHat, no hat...it's all good! Go for it! I can't wait to see what y'all come up with... :D
ReplyDeleteEverytime I hear her say that I can't get "you can leave your hat on" out of my head for days lol
ReplyDeleteHee!
