Odds and ends...and a big, big smile

A blast from the past--this was the performance that made me a Bucky Covington fan. 'Thunder Rolls', 3/1. First, a promising hint of news from an article about Kellie Pickler's record deal in the July 18th Nashville Tennessean:

Kellie and fellow season five contestant Bucky Covington met with Sony-BMG in Nashville after they got booted off the show. The label still is talking to Bucky, Joe said.

Uh huh. Stay tuned, everybody...

As you can imagine, this little morsel of almost-information has only added to the exquisite torture of those of us who'd like a Bucky Covington CD as soon as possible--or at least, solid confirmation that a label's got him signed on the dotted line. Oh, well--it is solidly confirmed that Bucky's first CD is very eagerly anticipated, indeed. They're talking about the article--and the possibilities--over at the official boards...

Meanwhile, back on the Idol tour, there was apparently no play-by-play of tonight's Wilkes-Barre show at Keeping the Boogie Alive, but there's a freshly-posted recap at MJ's if you're curious. (And yes, Bucky did throw his cowboy hat to a lucky fan again tonight.)

Just in case you missed it, here's a You Tube video of a recent meet-and-greet that's got most of the boards buzzing. Bucky looks like he's having a fantastic time!

Tonight's Cleveland show might still have some great newly-released seats available...and if you go, keep an eye out for a tall, dark, long-haired girl wearing a flutter-sleeved sky-blue shirt, a pair of bootcut jeans, and a big, big smile. That'd be me. I have been waiting to hear Bucky Covington sing live since that brisk March night my Idol-addicted co-worker flipped on the television at our hotel and that beautiful, haunting voice sang "Thunder Rolls" in a way that made me know I was in for the long haul. I could not be happier to see how far he's come--and I couldn't be more delighted to see how far he goes.

Mini-post coming later today, and I'll try to post after the show tonight. Have a magnificent Wednesday. (I know I will!)

    Hi Winnie,
Have a wonderful time at the concert. Hopefully you will be close enough to see that amazing smile that lights up his whole face when he performs. Let's hope that this is the beginning of many more live Bucky encounters and of course, blogging. Can't live without my daily dose of Buckymania.
