Tour and ticket news, 5/16

Hmmm...shall we call this "Pop Tarts Eve?" It's the day before the Idol Tour presale (follow that link for the CRAZYGOOD password and directions on how to use it), and it's a good time to go ahead and create an account at Ticketmaster--if you haven't already--and get familiar with your local venue(s) seating charts.

So, what kind of seats can you expect to choose from on Wednesday morning? The answer might induce a lot of "glass half empty/glass half full" mental gyrations. On the one hand, the blocks of seats released are neither the absolute best nor the worst in the house, if past experiences of MJ from MJ's Big Blog or the wild ConConGirls of Rickey.org (PG-13 language warning) are any indication. On the other hand, you'll have your ticket for Bucky Covington's first ever national tour in your hands for sure--and there's something comforting about knowing you have a ticket, even if it isn't the one you'll ultimately be using...

MJ also gives these sage words of advice: "If you log on early and aren't satisfied with the tickets you find, I suggest waiting until the actual sale date." I'll add that the Pop-Tarts presale isn't the only presale happening, of course--your venue might have a separate presale of its own. That one would involve a whole different block of seats, and perhaps those seats would be more to your liking--so if you haven't signed up for your venue's "insider" email list, do it now. (I'll wait right here...)

Here's an example from my spambox:

As Friends of Mellon Arena, we're giving you the exclusive opportunity to purchase tickets

(AEGlive.com has a mailing list too, by the way, and you can sign up for presale alerts by region. 'Cause you can never have too much tour spam...)

Later today I'll have even more (sigh) presale--and post presale--info for you, so stay tuned. And if the ticket-buying nonsense seems a bit tedious, take a deep breath, and remember that no matter where you sit, seeing the smile on Bucky's face as he plays his first arena-sized shows ever is worth all the hassle. Can't wait!

See you in a few hours...

  2. Hee!

Yep, I'm pretty excited. If someone had told me last year that I'd be all bouncy about going to an American Idol concert I'd have shook my head and backed away slowly...so much for being cool.

I can't wait to see Bucky live on stage!

  3. You know, the last time I went to an idol concert was three years ago...but I do remember seeing guys, mostly dads with kids and younger men with dates. He won't be the only guy by a longshot, although when I went, the men were somewhat outnumbered by the women and girls. Hope that helps! =)
