Edited to add a link to FoxNow, which lists the following upcoming interview for next week: "We sit down with Southern heartthrob Bucky Covington to hear his thoughts on American Idol." You'll need the latest version of Windows Media Player to watch the video on-site. (Via the Bucky fans at Idolforums, with much thanks.)
If you're headed to Rockingham for the big Bucky Bash this weekend, you can now officially call it a holiday vacation. R. Shawn Lewis of the Richmond County Daily Journal reports that Mayor Gene McLaurin has proclaimed Saturday Bucky Covington Day:
McLaurin’s proclamation, in part, reads “whereas Bucky Covington has shown that a sincere, ‘simple man’ with a dream to succeed can accomplish great things, now therefore, I, Mayor Eugene B. McLaurin II, do hereby proclaim Saturday, May 6, 2006, as Bucky Covington Day in Rockingham, N.C.”
Congratulations, Bucky! And if you're going to be traveling to Bucky Bash, be sure to read the whole article--there are plenty of helpful details about parking and street logistics, as well as an events overview. Have fun, and say "hello" to Bucky for us...
The promo blitz for the new Idols "Season 5 Encores" compilation CD is in full swing, and the official press release from RCA just popped up online this morning. Here's the bit about Bucky: Known for his country pipes, Bucky Covington sings the Stevie Ray Vaughn with Double Trouble arrangement of Stevie Wonder's "Superstition." We especially liked the picture accompanying this one; you can see the megasized pro version of the final twelve photo right here.
More later today!

ReplyDeleteGrace, thank you! You are so kind to point that one out. I am going to put that link in the next post--he is quite the witty one, isn't he?
ReplyDeleteAnd hi, Kathy--yep, I'm in Lake County way up north right now, and will be for most of the summer, but Columbus isn't far to travel for a chance to hear Bucky again. So I'll probably make a semi-vacation of it and try to catch the show again. Maybe I'll see you there? :)
