Your daily dose of "awww"...

Some of Bucky's youngest local fans got another treat yesterday--a surprise classroom visit from the man himself. A kind poster at the official board was there, and she added some great new photos to her profile. (She started a thread to share her story; click the first poster's name to visit her photo album.) Looks like it was a fun day for all involved!

Other than that...crickets, y'all. It is quiet in the Buckysphere. The Fox 8 interview from Thursday morning hasn't popped up yet (we're hoping it will, eventually), and with five weeks to go in the season, even the general Idol boards are in a temporary lull. So we'll keep plugging away at finding more tour info for you, and with any luck some sort of positive excitement is on the horizon...

(Just added venue links to the tour schedule post below--most of them will take you to the various "insider" e-mail notification pages. And as the presale passwords filter through the grapevine, we'll post them here, too.)

Hi! RitterSport from TWoP reported "Bucky was interviewed on the Fox TV station in Greensboro/High Point today. According to someone who saw it, he said he's 'definitely going to make a CD'".

I wonder if Bucky's confirmed that officially anywhere else. Have you heard anything? Some past idol contestants have made their own cds and then tried to shop them around. I wonder if that's what Bucky is going to do or if he actually has a deal.

  2. Hi, Grace! I've been looking for that Greensboro clip all day--so far, no luck. Hope it'll turn up eventually...

Haven't heard anything reliable other than Bucky's own words on that Fox morning show. There are vague, unsubstantiated rumors (just rumors!) of everything from an "interim" CD with past songs Bucky's written--done as kind of a "thank you" to the fans--to "he's all but signed, and as soon as the Idol tour is over, there'll be an announcement". But the rumors are so unreliable (and there is probably some wishful thinking and guessing involved, too) that I haven't blogged about them--I'd rather keep the main page fairly free of corrections and mea culpas.

Of course, it would be much, much better if a real label deal is in the works...it sounds like it'd be very tough for ex-contestants who shop their own cds around, although I'm no indie-music biz expert at all.

  4. Hi Vickie, and thanks--it's my pleasure! And I can't wait for his CD either...I really think that if/when he gets the right producer and a supportive label, the results are going to be magnificent.
